Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Faced with him, he didn’t know how to make something up. He hesitated for two seconds, and Si Yushan sensed that something was off. ”If you have something to say, say it. Don’t stammer. Who were you going upstairs to find?”

If he said he was looking for Si Qingxiao, disturbing her this late at night, then it had to be something big. But if he said he was looking for Si Yushan or You Yunzhi, there was no excuse he could use.

Si Yushan just smiled, gestured with his cup for him to follow downstairs, pinched a bit of tea into the cup, and poured in boiling water.

The water in the cup was scalding hot. He set the cup on the table and just stared at the man in front of him without saying a word.

In the end, the other man was the first to cave. ”Sir...”

”You were going to find Miss, right? Go on, what’s the matter?”

”Fourth Master is here.”

”So what if he’s here?” Si Yushan snorted. ”Is he at the gate? Just let him in. Or does he think it’s too late and doesn’t want to come in, so he asked you to call Xiaoxiao down?”

Their relationship was a well-known romance. Since Si Yushan had taken the initiative to let Si Qingxiao go to Nanjiang, he clearly wasn’t that rigid.

”It’s none of that.” The servant lowered his voice.

”Then what’s the situation?”

The servant found it hard to speak...

He couldn’t exactly say that their future son-in-law was currently climbing the wall, could he.

Si Yushan frowned. He thought something had happened to Jiang Chengsi, but seeing that no one could explain it clearly, he simply went out to check.

And that one look scared the hell out of him!

A certain drunk was currently fighting their courtyard wall. He’d clearly had too much to drink and couldn’t climb up at all. In a fit of anger he kicked the wall twice, then, maybe from exhaustion, actually squatted by the wall to catch his breath, gearing up for round two.

How particular is Si Yushan as a person? Don’t say climbing walls, he’s gone his whole life without even touching the top of one.

Suddenly running into such a weirdo of a future son-in-law gave him a splitting headache.

It’s not like their front gate was closed to him. Even if he wanted to stay over at the Si Family for a night, it’d be no big deal. What’s wrong with using a perfectly good door? Why the hell are you climbing walls!

Si Yushan’s mind worked fast. Seeing that they not only hadn’t stopped him but had actually gone straight to inform his daughter, he turned to the people beside him:

”Which time is this now?”

The Si Family members didn’t dare make a sound.

Si Yushan let out a soft, mocking laugh:

So clearly, this wasn’t the first time.

”Hurry up and get him inside. If he falls and breaks something in the middle of the night, who’s supposed to take the blame?” Si Yushan wasn’t primarily angry about the wall climbing; he was also worried about his health. Their courtyard wall was really not that low.

At first, Jiang Chengsi refused to cooperate. He even said:

”I got this. You guys bend over and let me step on you. I definitely can make it over.”

Si Yushan was so mad he almost kicked him himself.

In the end, the Si family people had to coax and trick him into the house. Inevitably, Jiang Chengsi got some dirt on him, and with the alcohol on top of that, he looked especially pathetic.

The Si family members from the monitoring room were also dragged out to stand off to the side, not daring to breathe too loudly.

As for the one who’d been caught red-handed, the rest were full of resentment.

Did his brain get waterlogged?

Could’ve just called Miss directly, right? What the hell did you run into the house for? And now look, walked right into the line of fire.

Thinking back afterward, even that guy himself felt it was strange. He didn’t know why he just had to run inside to call someone, when clearly one phone call, one text message could’ve settled everything.

Instead he’d turned things into a mess where everyone had to suffer with him.

...

With such a commotion downstairs, of course You Yunzhi and Si Qingxiao were both startled awake.

They hurriedly changed or threw on coats and came down.

”Chengsi?” You Yunzhi had already gone to bed. ”Why are you here so late? And what happened to your clothes?”

As she spoke she glanced at her husband. ”You did this?”

Si Yushan was torn between laughter and tears. In his wife’s mind, was he really such a vicious father-in-law, that he’d beat the guy up?

”Why would I do anything to him? He did this to himself.”
