The Medical Guru

But a story that Fang Qiu was so serious about and kept until the end of the lecture was definitely not an easy and pleasant story.

Below the stage, Chen Yinsheng also raised his eyebrows slightly.

He seemed to have guessed the content of Fang Qiu’s lecture, because he knew that Fang Qiu went to treat patients in L City in G Province, which was a famous remote mountainous area in the country. Fang Qiu might have run into something there.

On the stage. “This is a real story,” Fang Qiu asked, “do you know there is a G Province in our country?”

Many people nodded.

“I have promised before that I will choose a place for a free clinic for a day every month. And the place is the L City of G Province this month, which has been announced before. You might know it.

“However, is the name of L City in G Province similar to our Jiangjing, a big city as well?

“No. Due to the fact that you have never been to that place before, you do not know much about the situation there,” Fang Qiu shook his head and seemed like saying to himself.

Then, he added with a serious face, “When I first arrived in L City, I also felt that it is a big city. It was just that the construction of the city was a little worse than that of Jiangjing, but there were all kinds of things that a city should have. But when I walked into the Chinese Medicine Hospital of L City led by Director Lin Chao, my values were completely changed.

“Not every city will be crowded with patients. In front of me, the entire hall and corridors of the hospital are full of seriously ill patients. They are all waiting for me to treat them.

“At first, I thought that the hospital was afraid of an accident, so they did not publicize the news that I went to the local place to diagnose patients. But when I spent a day and a night diagnosing all the patients in the hospital, I found that all of them were seriously ill!”

Hearing that, all the people present became curious.

They were all seriously ill? Wasn’t this too much of a coincidence?

It was said that the flu over there was quite serious, but they didn’t know that so many patients required intensive care.

Everyone became confused.

Fang Qiu looked at everyone and said, “I didn’t know until the end.

...

“L City is in a remote place. The jurisdiction of the whole city is very wide, and there are very few subordinate counties. But there are many villages and towns in the mountainous area and many people of ethnic minorities.

“In those places, roads haven’t even been built yet. It will take two days for the people there to enter the city even if there is a car to pick them up.

“Director Lin Chao told me that there were many serious patients in those remote mountainous areas. So when he knew that I was going to be in diagnostics, he didn’t spread the news. Instead, he secretly asked the staff of the hospital to take seriously ill patients to the hospital. These people didn’t have money, and even the treatment fee was paid by the hospital.”

Hearing that, all the people present were shocked.

Just as Fang Qiu said, ninety percent or even ninety-nine percent of them had never been to that place, so they didn’t know the poor condition of that place.

“Director Lin Chao is a real Chinese Medicine doctor. He really stands by the patients’ side,” said Fang Qiu.

Everyone nodded.

Chen Yinsheng took the lead in applauding.

Lin Chao who was devoted to Chinese Medicine was indeed a very good Chinese Medicine doctor. Seldom people could be able to put the interests of the hospital aside for the patients.

All of a sudden, the audience burst into applause.

“To put it bluntly, Director Lin Chao is really one of the best Chinese Medicine doctors I have ever met.”

...

Fang Qiu praised him again and continued, “Later, Director Lin Chao told me specifically about the situation in L City. Just as I saw in the free clinic, all the serious diseases I treated were delayed into serious diseases. There were very few people who had serious diseases. The reason why those people developed serious diseases was that they did not get comprehensive treatment for minor illnesses. If they had been treated earlier, there would not have been so many serious diseases.”

He paused and gave everyone some time to digest the information.

After a while, he continued, “After I found this situation in L City, I asked someone to find very authoritative information. According to the information, there is currently a shortage of general practitioners in Huaxia villages and towns, a total of 600,000 people!
