The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

The world has fallen to the vampires. Electricity and phones are gone, cities rise and vanish, and ordinary people tell their children that monsters are only fairy tales. High in the mountains near Claxonville, one young woman has hidden herself away in a cottage wrapped in protective magic, so far from the world that she has not used her own name in years. As far as she is concerned, her part in all of this is over. Then, on a cold night, a man hammers at her door, begging to be let in and shouting that he knows she is inside. He should never have been able to find the place, and whatever is chasing him frightened him enough to approach the cabin the villagers believe is home to a witch. Whether she opens that door may decide the fate of the world.
