Stinging heart

”Are you giving up yourself?” There was the voice I heard with my ear.

I looked up and saw that it was Jordan Astley. He stood not far away and looked at me, with a bit of helplessness in his eyebrows. My instinctive reaction was to get up from the ground.

But after thinking about it, I still gave up. Anyway, I saw it all, and now it’s no use saving my image.

Some did not have good comments, ”Don’t worry about it!”

He stepped forward and stood aside and said, ”I don’t want to take care of you, but these easily picked pears, are you going to let them spoil?”

I pursed my lips, paused, picked up the fruit that had been covered with muddy water, looked at him, and said, ”Are you satisfied?”

He looked at me recently with a kind of seemingly nonexistent smile, but now as if that smile did not really exist in him.

Instead of reaching for it, he just looked at me and said, ”Get up, Grandpa Cross is still waiting to eat!”

Having said that, he just left without helping me. He didn’t really want to help me. I almost didn’t come up in one breath. I felt that he just seemed to let me come over to see me make a fool of myself.

I was completely like a figure covered with mud. When I stood up and moved beside the way, Bruno Coleman sat on the steps to rest and saw me open my mouth wide for a while, making no secret of my exaggerated expression.

”Miss Ivelle, did you fall into the pit?”

I pursed my lips and wanted to cry without tears. ”Sort of!”

He had some concern, so he smiled and took the muddy fruit out of my hand and washed it.

He then looked at me and said, ”There is a bathroom on this side of the way, so go and wash yourself quickly, but you don’t have extra clothes to change your dirty clothes. If you don’t mind later, you can borrow some of mine.”

Apart from this, I won’t be able to figure out what else to do for a while.

Nodded and said, ”Well, thank you!”

He smiled and said, ”You’re welcome. Now go and clean yourself!”

I was muddy, and everywhere I went, someone was looking at me, and it made me feel like I had rolled around in the dirt.

When I finally got to the bathroom, I saw Felix Stewart looking at me in the makeshift bath area and said, ”Miss Ivelle, these are the clothes that Boss Astley asked me to bring to you!”

I saw it. He was laughing at me.

I couldn’t help but feel aggrieved, and I didn’t want to continue to be hypocritical. When I took the clothes in his hand, I held my temper for a long time and I didn’t have a good mood. I said to him, ”You tell Jordan that I won’t thank him for the clothes he sent me at all. This happened to me because of him. He had no conscience after all, even though he knew that he needed to send me clean clothes to change my dirty clothes.”

Felix nodded, smiled, and said, ”Miss Ivelle, go in and wash it first. I’ll keep it here for you. Go!”

Because there were many men on the side of the area, there was no distinction between men’s and women’s bathrooms, but fortunately, the bathrooms were only good for one person per use.

I nodded and saw Bruno coming over with clothes in his arms. I was very grateful and said, ”There are clothes here, thank you!”

When he saw this, he smiled and said, ”It’s all right. I’ll go and get busy first.”

I went into the bathroom to change my clothes and afterward, I came out. My clothes were all covered with dirt. I washed them, but because there was no cool place here to dry them, so I had to fold them and put them in a bag.

When I came out, Felix looked at me and saw that I was already clean again and said solemnly, ”Miss Ivelle, I’ll go leave you now.”

I nodded and said thank you.

After a busy day, I had planned to go back straight home, but when I met Bruno along the way, he said, ”Miss Ivelle, Felix has just come to inform me that we will have dinner together later, so don’t rush back home!”

I frowned and said, ”Didn’t we just eat together in the morning?”

He smiled. ”Isn’t Dominic Cross an old man? It is estimated that Astley always wants to call a few more people so that everyone could a lively meal together. I heard that Dominic usually lives alone, and occasionally his granddaughter comes to have a look and visit him. The old man is indeed old already. I like us younger people to get together and be lively.”

That’s true!

I nodded and answered, ”OK, is it still a scenic spot?”

He nodded. ”I’ll pull the goods over later. It may be a little too much. Boss Astley, they are driving now. You will sit there with them later!”

”Yes, yes!”
