Stinging heart

I tilted my mouth and stared at him with round and expectant eyes.

He took a sip of coffee and said, ”You know I’m good at computers, and I’ve done a lot of research on AI. Several of my companies are studying AI also. You said that on purpose to ask me to help you.”

I shrugged. ”If you don’t want to help, I’ll think of another way!”

He smiled and said helplessly, ”Come on, how do you want me to help?”

”I want to talk to the boss of Samson Electronics, and then I’m going to let Badger buy Samson Electronics. You can’t argue with me!” I said this very seriously, but also in a pitiful manner. ”Brother, I know the Biden family is difficult to deal with. I can only rely on this case to gain a foothold in Badger so that I can have more opportunities to do what I want to do in the future!”

He sighed and said helplessly, ”In regards to Samson Electronics, I won’t argue with you. But Ivelle, have you ever thought that if you rely on Badger alone, it won’t work for the Biden family?”

I looked at him and said firmly, ”What if you, Jordan, and Aaron are added?”

He froze and sighed for a moment. ”Ivelle, you really want to count us all in.”

It was true that people will change. Once he had something to protect or destroy, Liam could really be fearless and unrelenting.

Looking at him, I paused and said, ”You can refuse my favor. I’ll find someone else.”

He raised his eyebrows. ”Do you really think I’ll refuse?”

I shook my head and said, ”Of course not!”

He smiled and stopped talking.

For the first time, I found that Liam actually was a man of words. He kept discussing all afternoon, and when I got the AI thing done, I was in no hurry to go back.

So as I sat there listening to him, he said, ”Ivelle, all these years, I have been thinking about the place where I truly belong, and I think that it’s really you. So I believe, in this life, I cannot let go of you.”

I looked at him and didn’t know what to say. I just said shallowly, ”You have to walk slowly into the future.”

I couldn’t promise him the rest of his life. I’ve stopped imagining my future. If it wasn’t for hatred, I wouldn’t be able to live to the present, so I haven’t promised anyone anything in the future. I was selfish, so I didn’t even want to give him hope.

Seeing that I was a little tired, he said, ”Are you tired? Shall I take you back to rest?”

I nodded and went out of the restaurant with him.

Along the way, I was a little drowsy. He stopped himself from talking, turned on slow music, and let me sleep in the car.

I tried sleeping with my eyes tightly closed on the back of my chair. Lately, I haven’t been sleeping well. I couldn’t sleep in a bed on weekdays, most especially in the car.

Even if I was feeling tired, I still couldn’t fall asleep. The car finally stopped. I opened my eyes and saw Liam get out of the car with a dreamy face.

In front of the car was Jordan, who was slender and tall. He looked a little haggard. It seemed that he had been waiting for us at the gate of the village for a long time.

Liam was angry, so after getting out of the car, he raised his hand and beat Jordan without saying a word. Jordan did not fight back and let him beat him up.

I didn’t want to go down to get involved with their fight. I just sat indifferently in the car watching the quarrel, expressionless.

After a long time, Liam grew tired and sat beside the battered Jordan with unabated anger. ”Jordan, there is no more damned man in the world than you.”

Jordan said nothing, and his bloodied figure stood up from the ground. Even though he was beaten with wounds and scars, he was still reserved and his temperament remained the same.

He stood in front of the car, a pair of black eyes looking at me. Our four eyes faced each other. There was no love between us, only cold memories oppressing me.

After contemplating for a moment, I compromised. I got out of the car.

I walked up to him and said, ”Excuse me, the car needs to get in!” Yes, he’s in the way of the neighborhood. I couldn’t get past him.

He grasped the back of my hand, holding it more and more tightly until there was some pain. He looked at me for a long time, his eyes hurt deeply. He said, ”Ivelle, your home is not here.”

Perhaps it’s too cold in late autumn. I was a little shivering. But he shouldn’t be shaking.

I wanted to laugh, but I couldn’t produce a sound. My eyes hurt so badly from his sight that I tried my best to shake him off. I suppressed my emotion and said, ”You can’t show up here unless you want to die!”
