The botched human trafficking incident turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Wanwan, giving her the chance to study under Mr. Yan from Yan’s Jewelry.

Since the incident happened in his place, Mr. Yan felt apologetic and gave Wanwan a lot of advice and help regarding her solo exhibition.

With his wife working, Jiang Jinsang suddenly had free time and started taking his little niece out to play everywhere.

Granted, their Fourth Brother is kind of simple and silly, but Little Tuanzi is just too adorable—fair and pretty, soft and cute, sweet and a bit goofy. Every time she opens her mouth it’s a sugary little ”Uncle,” and Jiang Jinsang feels like he could hand her his very heart.

One time the two of them went to the beach wearing clothes in similar colors, looking very much like they were in matching parent‑child outfits, which drove Jiang Chengsi a bit crazy.

Everyone knows Jiang Jinsang is basically a ”child trafficker”—since he doesn’t have a daughter of his own, he just spends all day eyeing other people’s.

Especially that little pink dumpling from the Huo Family. With her real dad not around, he ”took advantage of the gap and slipped in.”

Once, Qi Zeyan even teased him: ”Why are you staring at your own sister‑in‑law’s kid all day long!”

Who would’ve thought that this time he’d set his sights on his own daughter. Watching how well they got along, Jiang Chengsi was feeling seriously jealous:

”Jiang Xiaowu, if you want a daughter, go have one yourself!”

Jiang Jinsang just smiled. ”I think other people’s daughters are cuter.”

Jiang Chengsi practically wanted to climb through the phone line and kick him.

But that night, when Wanwan had just finished work and returned to the hotel, Jiang Jinsang was massaging her shoulders and suddenly asked in a low voice, ”Wanwan, don’t you think our home feels a bit quiet?”

Wanwan is too sharp; she got it instantly. She tilted her head to look at him. ”You’re thinking about a second child?”

”It’s crossed my mind, but it still depends on what you want.”

”Aren’t you going to ask Mutang? Some kids are really against that.” Wanwan smiled. ”We broke our promise to him this time. Lately when I talk to him on the phone, I can obviously hear the disappointment in his voice. You should think about how you’re going to make it up to him.”

”I’ve been thinking about that too. It’s already autumn. Once we’re back in Beijing, I’m worried he’ll catch a cold at the water park. I’m planning to take him and Sese to the oceanarium instead. I heard they’ve added an orca show recently.”

”Sounds good.” Wanwan had just finished speaking when her phone suddenly vibrated. Seeing that it was an unfamiliar number, she hesitated for a moment but still answered.

”...Sorry, I’m not in Beijing right now. If you need anything, please contact my studio directly.”

Seeing her on the phone, Jiang Jinsang stayed quiet until she hung up. When he saw her brows knitted tightly, he lowered his voice and asked, ”What happened? Work‑related?”

”It’s that group from the Animal Protection Association I mentioned before. They’re against my putting on a Cyan Feather exhibition and want to talk to me about it.”

In recent years, with the push to have Cyan Feather listed as intangible cultural heritage, it’s stirred up heated debate more than once. A lot of people think this kind of blood‑soaked culture is just dross.

Linked to Cyan Feather is the issue of animal protection.

Wanwan’s been too high‑profile these past few years, and Cyan Feather has entered the public eye. People from the Animal Protection Association think this trend is bad for animal protection, so she’s had quite a bit of dealing with them these last two years.

Jiang Jinsang just kept massaging her shoulders. ”Once we’re back, sit down and have a proper talk with them.”

Wanwan only nodded in agreement.

”Let’s focus on how we’re going to make it up to our son when we get back.”

...

Little did they know that Jiang Xiaowai had just come out of an amusement park. Jiang Shiyi then took him out for steak, and maybe because his compulsion was acting up, he even cut the steak up for him and set it in front of him, being incredibly considerate.

”Is there anything else you want to do?” Jiang Shiyi watched the little guy push the few decorative carrot slices on his pasta off to the side.

”I want to go play with Fourth Uncle. Is that okay?”

”Okay. I’ll take you over after your tutoring class tomorrow.”
