Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

After all, Mr. Yan’s son was still young at this point, and couldn’t think that far ahead.

When something like this happens, the first thing to do is find the police. In the exhibition hall there were lots of people in security uniforms, so he jogged in, spotted one, and told them that a little sister had gone missing.

The security guards all knew him. As soon as they heard a child was lost, they immediately tensed up, but they couldn’t cause a commotion or alert the suspect, in case the ”kidnapper” realized and ran off with the child.

They had people closely watch the entrance for anyone going in or out without a child, sent one team to inform Mr. Yan, and another to check the surveillance.

This was a jewelry exhibition, after all, with tons of cameras and almost no blind spots. Based on the place he said the ”abduction” happened, they quickly locked onto that woman in a mask and cap.

Wearing a mask and cap, the person in the footage already looked suspicious enough to draw security’s attention, and now she’d run off holding a child. Most importantly, Mr. Xiaoyan didn’t know her.

No one had time to observe how she interacted with the Little Tuanzi or why she left a note. Finding the child was the top priority.

If there was a security lapse, when the blame came down later, they’d all be in trouble.

Best would be to resolve everything before Mr. Yan even got there.

So a whole group of them charged mightily into the lounge.

...

Jiang Jinsang was using the computer to play cartoons for the Little Tuanzi while he and Tang Wan waited for Si Yushan to come over. The moment the door opened, a group of security guards burst in!

Jiang Jinsang had been mixing in business circles for years—these security guards had never met him, but he wasn’t exactly a stranger either, he was on TV a lot.

The scene instantly turned very awkward.

Meanwhile the other team of security had just notified Mr. Yan. Si Yushan also heard that his granddaughter had gone missing and that the ”trafficker” had even arrogantly left a note. He hadn’t even recovered from that when he heard the ”trafficker” had been caught.

”No, that’s not a trafficker.” Si Yushan was so shrewd, he immediately realized there had to be a mistake.

It was a complete and utter farce.

Tang Wan never would have thought she’d be taken for a child trafficker, and that leaving a note would be seen as a provocation.

But because of this incident, Tang Wan could be said to have found a blessing in disguise. The Yan Family felt guilty about having rushed them and specifically treated them to a meal. Tang Wan already had a lot of questions she wanted to ask Yang Wangchuan but had never had the chance; now she finally got to have a good long talk with him.

It was the Yan Family’s young Mr. Xiaoyan who didn’t seem very happy.

The Little Tuanzi even went over on purpose to ask if he was mad at her for not waiting for him.

He didn’t say anything, just fished a few little snacks out of his pocket and stuffed them into her hand, then didn’t speak to her again after that.

The Little Tuanzi sighed:

This brother was way too hard to coax.

...

On the other side—

Jiang Xiaowai was in quite a good mood too. During Taekwondo training today, the coach had praised him. His parents would be back tomorrow, and then he could go home.

After his bath, the little guy started packing his luggage.

Jiang Shiyi came in carrying a cup of warm milk and handed it to him. ”Drink your milk.”

”Thank you, Third Uncle.” Maybe because he’d be going home tomorrow, even this fussy, hard‑to‑please uncle was starting to look much more pleasing to Jiang Xiaowai.

”You’re not leaving till tomorrow. Why are you packing at night?” Jiang Shiyi raised a brow.

”I need to take my stuff to the Taekwondo Hall. Mom and Dad said they’d pick me up after class and then we’d go eat a big meal.”

Seeing how happy he was, Jiang Shiyi didn’t say anything more, just frowned at the way he was packing. What kind of packing was that? Clothes and toys all stuffed in randomly. He was about to go help when his phone vibrated—Jiang Jinsang was calling.

”Hello, Xiaowu.”

When Jiang Xiaowai heard it was his dad, he turned his head to look at Jiang Shiyi, clearly wanting to say something. Jiang Shiyi raised his hand to signal him to wait, so Jiang Xiaowai just hugged his milk and took a couple of sips.

”Third Brother, sorry, but there’s something I might need to trouble you with a bit longer.”

”Go ahead.”

”Wanwan and I probably can’t make it back tomorrow. We’ll have to delay for two days.”
