He had lived a proper life, valuing tradition; how did his daughter end up with such a character?

Jiang Chengsi and Si Qingxiao’s wedding was extremely lively.

**

After the wedding, the couple stayed at the Jiang Mansion for a period, but Si Family, having only this one daughter, missed her dearly and wanted to bring her home for a few days.

A daughter already married should not always stay at her parents’ home, but the Jiang family directly sent Jiang Chengsi over too.

It wasn’t that the Jiang family was unwilling to take care of Si Qingxiao; it’s just that Jiang Xiaowai had just learned to walk recently, and being young and clumsy, once almost bumped into her. The house was quite noisy and not very suitable for a pregnant woman’s rest, so perhaps Si Qingxiao was more comfortable at her own home, making Jiang family less opposed.

Si Qingxiao spent most of her pregnancy at the Si Family’s home; the Jiang family wasn’t indifferent, as both families often had meals together and maintained close relations.

Running back and forth the most was Jiang Xiaowai.

The little one had just learned to walk, and Tang Wan often took him out to play. Jiang Xiaowai loved going to the Si Family’s place, though Jiang Chengsi found it a little concerning.

This little guy, well, he never seemed to be up to anything good day after day.

Every day, he bounced around on his short, chubby legs, running everywhere, with Jiang Chengsi following closely behind, worried he’d fall and hurt himself.

”Jiang Xiaowu, Mutang is over a year old; he can walk, how come he still can’t talk? Even if he can’t say complete sentences, at his age, he should at least be able to say mom and dad, right?”

”I’ve tried teaching him, but he just babbles all day.” Jiang Jinsang also found this puzzling.

Generally, some children start speaking earlier, what was with his kid?

How come no matter how much he taught, he just pretended to be clueless?

...

Speaking of Xiaowai’s struggle with calling mom and dad, there was an incident that left Jiang Jinsang both bemused and frustrated. That day, they were at the Huo Family’s place, and Xiao Yi’s due date was approaching. Shen Shuci was teaching him to say mom and dad.

The Huo Family’s little surprise, although not yet able to walk, had already developed language skills early. Despite his babbling, one could vaguely discern he was indeed saying mom and dad.

Shen Shuci taught him and was preparing to video call Huo Qinqi, as he had yet to hear his son call him dad.

When the video was set up, Shen Shuci began prompting her son, pointing at the screen: ”This is dad, dad——dad——”

She pronounced each syllable clearly and deliberately.

Jiang Xiaowai waddled over to the screen on his short legs.

The little surprise opened his mouth as if trying to say something, maybe unsure of how to start.

”You did well earlier, try saying it again, dad!” Shen Shuci continued encouraging her son.

The little surprise didn’t manage to say it, but Jiang Xiaowai quite clearly called out ”dad——” to the screen.

Huo Qinqi was dumbfounded, and Jiang Jinsang was equally stunned.

Seeing everyone’s silence, Jiang Xiaowai called out ”dad” to the screen once more, then turned to look at the little surprise with a very proud expression, as if to say:

See, I’m better than you!

Jiang Jinsang never imagined that his son’s first ”dad” would be directed at Huo Qinqi. It seemed like he’d discovered something new, and seeing Huo Zheng, he’d call him dad too. He seemed to be showing off his skill, making Jiang Jinsang almost faint with frustration.

After much correction at home, he finally understood that dad was a special term that couldn’t be used for just anyone.

...

As for the Huo Family’s little surprise, he began speaking and walking early, which should have been a good thing, though it became a headache for Jiang Chengsi.

Originally, only Jiang Xiaowai would come over, but now it was the two of them. Beijing was such a big city with so many fun places, why did they keep coming to the Si Family?

Si Qingxiao was very endearing to children, and both Si Yushan and his wife also adored the two little ones, usually preparing all sorts of treats for them in advance.

However, Jiang Chengsi wasn’t very pleased.

It seemed kids at this age all liked scribbling and coloring wherever they could, particularly on his cars, and if he was careless, his car would end up a chaotic mess.
