”Are all the cars ready for Xiaosi’s wedding?” Ruan Mengxi jumped straight into work as soon as her honeymoon ended.

”They’ve been ready for a while, all undergoing repairs and maintenance.”

”Especially the safety concerns, they must be thoroughly checked.”

Jiang Chengsi is planning a grand convoy for his wedding, with motorbikes leading and racing cars bringing up the rear—

The fellow wants to be Beijing’s most eye-catching groom!

With his wife busy working, Qi Zeyan was feeling a bit lonely; he was being watched by his grandfather day and night. The old man wasn’t straightforward in asking when he’d have a little great-grandchild for himself; he just sighed and remarked:

”I really envy your grandmother Jiang, her family is flourishing, sons and grandkids all around her, truly blessed.”

”I went to the little park the other day and saw your grandfather Ding’s little great-granddaughter, she was just too cute.”

Even when watching TV, he’d use the opportunity to hint at him, ”Zeyan, look at this little child star on TV, like a little dumpling, so adorable.”

”...”

Qi Zeyan was stressed, contemplating whether he should move out now that he’s married.

He even picked out a house, and one day, to surprise her, he left work early to pick her up at the club, only to be told Ruan Mengxi wasn’t feeling well and was resting in the office.

Qi Zeyan was furious at the time:

Jiang Xiaosi, are you exploiting my wife? You worked her to exhaustion.

He called Jiang Chengsi and gave him a good scolding.

Jiang Chengsi: ”Fainted? Really?”

”What do you mean, really? Do you think I’d lie about something like this to you?”

”Maybe it’s just too hot and she got a heatstroke.”

”Get lost—”

Qi Zeyan prepared to take her to the hospital for a check-up, but Ruan Mengxi refused, so he resorted to saying: ”If you don’t go, I’ll call our parents.”

The ’parents’ here were definitely Ruan Mengxi’s, who were in Pingjiang. They’d be anxious if they heard about such a thing.

Ruan Mengxi had no choice but to go with him for the check-up. The results shocked both of them...

Jiang Chengsi was feeling a bit down after being angrily scolded by someone, but he was also worried something might have really happened to Ruan Mengxi, planning to call later to check.

Before he could make the call, Qi Zeyan’s call came.

At that moment, he thought:

I’m done for, he must be calling to give me another earful.

When he answered, he was greeted with someone’s wanton laughter:

”Jiang Xiaosi, I’m going to be a dad, hahaha, did you know? My wife is pregnant.”

Jiang Chengsi was dumbfounded: ”...”

”I just knew it, after working so hard, how could there not be a result.” Qi Zeyan laughed wantonly.

”Haha, you all know, I got some news...”

”Hey, sir over there, this is the hospital, please don’t shout!” suddenly someone interrupted his chatter.

”Sorry, my apologies.” Qi Zeyan quickly apologized, grinning like a fool.

With Ruan Mengxi pregnant, the happiest was definitely the Qi family, even her parents mentioned rushing over overnight, but were persuaded not to. Nevertheless, others visited the hospital to offer congratulations.

The doctor mentioned the baby was already over a month old, meaning she was pregnant when they were having their wedding.

The couple went on their honeymoon, they surely shared a room together, Qi Zeyan’s grandfather was initially worried, but the doctor assured them the mother-to-be showed no signs of discomfort, suggesting everything was fine.

”You’ve been pregnant over a month, how come you didn’t feel a thing?” Tang Wan chuckled.

”You know how I was aggressive with dieting before, and I used the wrong methods, always relying on starving myself, making my cycle a bit irregular.” Ruan Mengxi sometimes had longer cycles, up to forty days apart.

Considering this, the children of Qi Zeyan and Jiang Chengsi families may be around the same age, perhaps even have overlapping due dates, some joked about organizing a child marriage, but this was met with joint opposition from the two.

The pair knew each other too well, who didn’t understand the other’s temperament?

For some, friendship and brotherhood were no problem, but being in-laws...

No thanks, get lost!
