Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Having confirmed dinner plans for the evening, Jiang Jinsang called both Huo Qinqi and Jiang Chengsi. Both said there was no need to wait for them; they’d just send the restaurant location and meet there directly.

When heading out, Tang Wan saw Shuci dressed again in pants and a windcoat and couldn’t help but frown.

“Auntie, could you change into something else?”

“This isn’t good?” She felt very comfortable.

“The qipao from before, put it on.”

“It’s too cold to wear that in this weather.”

“The restaurant isn’t cold, just throw on a coat and you’ll be fine.” Tang Wan pushed her to change clothes, “I guarantee Big Brother Huo will particularly like it.”

Shen Shuci couldn’t outargue her. Wearing the qipao and wrapped in a coat, she left the house with Tang Wan and Jiang Jinsang naturally sharing a ride.

And the lady who delivered the qipao drove her own car, following right behind them.

At this moment, they were in the suburbs with not many vehicles around, just a road speed limit. The setting sun shone into the car, country music was playing on the radio, everything seemed extraordinarily tranquil and enchanting…

Until a “putt-putt-putt—” sound came from behind.

Through the rearview mirror, she saw a man, riding a lady’s pedal bike. It was obvious he was tall and a bit cramped on the bike, which made him look completely out of place.

Wearing a helmet, you could vaguely make out half of his face, riding the small pedal bike, “putt-putt” approaching…

The tailpipe emitted a bluish-gray smoke as he slightly bent forward, taking on a professional rider’s stance, speeding away, surpassing her car.

They were about to enter the city, and just ahead there was a traffic jam.

When his pedal bike was alongside the cars, Jiang Jinsang in the driver’s seat rolled down the window and seemed to have a few words with him.

Then that little pedal bike “putt-putt-putted—” off into the distance, quite amusingly.

It made her laugh involuntarily.

Meanwhile, in another car, Tang Wan pinched the bridge of her nose, “I thought Fourth Brother would take a taxi, but he actually came out on a pedal bike.”

“And a lady’s pedal bike, no less…”

“When Grandpa took him to look at cars, he was so resistant, wasn’t he? It’s one thing to ride around our neighborhood, but to the city center? Even if we’re not in Beijing and few people recognize him, he should at least care a little about his image.”

If Tang Wan hadn’t seen him riding motorcycles so dashingly before, she wouldn’t have brought it up, but the pedal bike just didn’t match his image. Presumably, his dad had already finished work and gone home; he could have borrowed his car.

Why insist on riding the little pedal bike? And a women’s model at that.

Every time Shen Shuci saw him riding, she couldn’t help but laugh out loud, and this time was no different.

Jiang Chengsi lived very nonchalantly, as long as he felt comfortable. Not many could be as carefree as him, and Shen Shuci found herself somewhat envious of his easygoing nature.

Jiang Jinsang was in control of the steering wheel, “Since when did Fourth Brother care about his image?”

“That’s true…” Tang Wan mused, recalling how Jiang Chengsi once rode an electric scooter around the neighborhood with Jiangjiang and Taotao, always indifferent to others’ opinions.

“And with Third Cousin gone, no one’s to check on him, so he’s completely let loose.”

Tang Wan pursed her lips, only Jiang Shiyi could really handle him, ordinary people certainly couldn’t.

“Grandpa said recently some neighbors want to set Fourth Brother up with someone…”

Jiang Jinsang stated bluntly, “Better not to ruin those young ladies.”

“…”

“Come on, he’s your brother. Is that really nice to say?” Tang Wan stifled her laughter.

“Cousin,” Jiang Jinsang corrected her, “I’m thinking of those young ladies. With Fourth Brother, unless he likes someone and is willing to submit, if anyone chases after him? They’re only torturing themselves.”

Tang Wan nodded in agreement. Having known him for so long, she could see Jiang Chengsi seemed casual but actually had his own firm beliefs and ideas.

He was playful and liked to roam, but he also had his limits and boundaries.

Seated in the back, Shen Shuci slightly pulled at her skirt hem. She hadn’t worn this qipao in front of Huo Qinqi yet. It had a stand-up collar and long sleeves, not revealing, but she was not used to the slits, always feeling somewhat uneasy.

Her heart suddenly grew apprehensive, regretting listening to Tang Wan’s suggestion, unsure of what his reaction would be.
