Capítulo 787: 479 This girl is gentle as water, yet every cut scrapes the heart (2 more updates)_3

Tang Wan had known her for two or three years. She was extremely well-mannered and often wore qipao, moving with grace and charm. Never had Tang Wan imagined she would see her strike someone with a stick.

Shen Shuci hadn’t expected her to follow either.

Yet this hit with the stick on Liang Wenzhong’s back wasn’t enough to knock him unconscious.

One after another, Cheng Yaojin came up, and Liang Wenzhong originally intended to teach Shen Shuci a lesson. As more and more people gathered and he couldn’t escape, he grew increasingly frenzied.

This hit with the stick truly infuriated him.

He clenched the knife in his hand, suddenly turned around, and swung at her!

“Be careful—” Tang Wan blurted out, while a passerby screamed instinctively. Shen Shuci was some distance away and, despite running wildly, might not make it in time.

Tang Wan’s breath caught; her heart jumped to her throat.

…

This area was a suburb, with many alleys and houses around, yet a low occupancy rate. Those with a bit of money had moved downtown, and the young people had gone out, leaving mostly elderly residents. It was extremely quiet.

Jiang Jinsang and Huo Qinqi’s car had already stopped at the intersection. Hearing the shouts and being very close, they exchanged glances and hurriedly ran towards the sound.

Huo Qinqi moved even faster and was very sharp. Despite the complex alleys, he found the exact location, with Jiang Jinsang following closely behind.

Upon arriving, they witnessed Liang Wenzhong committing the act of violence.

Even Huo Qinqi, fast as he was, couldn’t make it in time.

Just when everyone thought the girl was more likely to be unlucky,

she raised her arm, swung the stick, and delivered a fierce blow to the side of Liang Wenzhong’s shoulder.

His body tilted from the impact, and the knife didn’t come within half an inch of her. As he was unbalanced and hadn’t recovered, she struck him another harsh blow on his head.

He even collapsed and was completely knocked out.

She held the stick, poked his body to make sure he was unconscious, and then took a long breath of relief towards Tang Wan,

“That scared me to death.”

Everyone: “…”

Her manner of swinging the stick didn’t look like someone who was scared to death at all. If she were overly frightened, she should have looked pale like this passerby young girl.

Liang Wenzhong was very close to her. If she had been half a second slower in her movements, he would definitely have slashed a gash on her.

She was quick to react.

She placed the stick aside and clapped her hands, “Um… has anyone called the police?”

Only then did Tang Wan remember she was still on the phone with the police, as the officer on the other end had also heard the screams and kept calling her.

“Sorry…”

“Are you alright?” The operator was terrified and had already started locating the phone signal, but it would take time.

“I’m fine.”

“Can you confirm your location?”

“We’re at…” Tang Wan frowned, but the girl in the qipao came over, “Want to report the location, right? Let me do it.”

Tang Wan handed her the phone. After she gave the precise location and hung up, she pointed to the door number plate, “Isn’t it right here?”

Tang Wan suddenly realized that in her panic, she hadn’t noticed that every household had a door plate clearly marking which alley and which house it was.

“Are you alright?” Tang Wan looked her over.

“No problem, just wanted to make sure you weren’t lost, so I came to check on you,” she said with a chuckle, but her gaze accidentally caught both Shen Shuci and Huo Qinqi sizing her up, causing her to cough softly and avert her eyes.

Both of these individuals were trained, and it was likely apparent to them that she had some skills…

Even if she didn’t, such bravery wasn’t common.

That strike with the stick was precise, hitting right at the critical spot. If it had been a knife, it would have likely gouged deeply.

Moreover, she was still wearing a cheongsam, which made her actions seem quite incongruent.

“Sister, are you alright?” Tang Wan shifted her gaze to the pedestrian, “Your clothes are also torn.”

“It’s okay.” She was clearly shaken, fumbling with her clothes somewhat helplessly.

Her sleeve was ripped open, exposing her slender arm. She clutched her arm, and her stomach was also exposed where her shirt had been cut. She pulled at her clothing, looking very vulnerable.

Shen Shuci watched her, preparing to take off his own trench coat to give to her.
