The Medical Guru

Chapter 720 The Teacher Takes the Blame on the Student’s Behalf!

As soon as Xu Miaolin finished speaking, the screen in the broadcast room went black all of a sudden.

As a result, all those who were watching the live broadcast were taken aback.

Xu Miaolin’s speech indeed touched everyone, leaving them lost in a myriad of thoughts.

Even if that was the case, there was still an endless stream of haters who continued to scold him by leaving vicious comments on the screen.

Of course, quite a lot of people had thought it through and felt that Xu Miaolin was right and was stereotyped by them. The real blame went to the spectators. What Xu Miaolin had done was reasonable and legal. Was it justified for everyone to lay the blame on him just because they felt that he shouldn’t charge the patient for the medical treatment?

If that was justified, why didn’t anyone go to the hospital to accuse those doctors of charging the fee?

Was it just because the patient didn’t receive the medical treatment in the hospital?

Hospitals were large enterprises that were recognized by the state, possessed an enormous amount of investment, and were the first options of many patients. Were those the reasons why everyone dared not bully or criticize them?

What if Xu Miaolin were a country doctor?

Would those who didn’t dare to blame those big hospitals and felt that it was reasonable and legal for them to charge the patients for the treatments think what Xu Miaolin had done was reasonable and legal instead of laying the blame on him?

Obviously, they wouldn’t!

Was it something wrong to charge the patients?

That was something truly worth thinking about!

Soon, Xu Miaolin’s words caused a heated discussion on the Internet.

“As a doctor, he doesn’t have any medical ethics at all. Since he has nothing but money in his mind, he’d better go back home raising pigs instead of being a doctor!”

“I couldn’t agree more. The family went to his place to beg him, yet he demanded them to register in the hospital first. How heartless a person he is!”

“Offering medical treatments is a piece of cake for you doctors. Why did you have to charge them? Couldn’t you help them?”

There were neutral ones, too.

“I’d like to say something. The reason why Xu Miaolin asked the couple to register in the hospital is that he intended to avoid risks. Because as long as the patient pays for the hospital admission, he can sign agreements with the hospital. If something goes wrong, it also helps determine whether compensation should be paid.”

“It’s a law-based society, so healing and saving lives should also be done according to the law. If anything bad happens during the secret treatment, who’s going to take the responsibility? Xu Miaolin? Why should you hold someone responsible for doing you a favor? The couple? Wouldn’t they be even more pathetic if they have to take the responsibility at the end? Therefore, going to the hospital is the best choice.”

“Medical treatment should be done in a reasonable way. Besides, the hospital does possess more equipment, which is more beneficial for treating the child. Xu Miaolin couldn’t treat the child with his bare hands, could he?”

Of course, there were also some who agreed.

“You guys are unbelievably ridiculous. Why can’t Xu Miaolin charge the patient as the hospital does? He doesn’t owe anyone anything! Does he spend most of his life studying Chinese Medicine just for providing free medical treatments? You guys have spent 20 or 30 years studying, would you mind sharing your knowledge with us and telling your boss that you don’t want to be paid? Do you dare to do that?”

“If doctors don’t charge the patients, what do they rely on to make a living? Are you guys willing to die of illness when no doctors are available?”

“This group of people is overly sensitive. Why do they blame Xu Miaolin for taking the patient to the hospital and charging him here instead of doing something practical? Let’s say, how about donating some money to cure the child? What’s the use of paying lip service alone? They know nothing but scold Xu Miaolin for charging the patient. Why don’t they scold themselves for not donating?”

“Now in this world, the weak ones assume that they are reasonable. In fact, it’s the compassion for the weak that masks the exploitation imposed upon the strong.”

“I’m here to ask a question. If the couple were millionaires, would you still denounce Xu Miaolin?”
