Global Era of Star trekking

The reason he only took 20 and didn’t exchange too much was that Song Chi wanted to see if there were other items worth acquiring later on; it wouldn’t be too late to exchange for the Advanced Body Tempering Potions if there was nothing else he wanted.

Holding the 20 Advanced Body Tempering Potions, Song Chi continued to head for the higher floors.

When he reached the twentieth floor, he stopped again, pausing in front of a special exchange counter.

This counter was different from the others: It wasn’t about exchanging with Merit Points but was an exchange between different grades of Floating Land Origin.

There were three exchange options available at this counter.

10 Strands of Zero Rank Floating Land Origin for 1 strand of First Rank Floating Land Origin

15 Strands of First Rank Floating Land Origin for 1 strand of Second Rank Floating Land Origin

20 Strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin for 1 strand of Third Rank Floating Land Origin

These three methods of exchange could be done in either direction, but essentially, members of the Song family would usually exchange lower-rank Floating Land Origins for higher-rank ones, with very few opting to do the reverse.

Because of this extreme imbalance, strict restrictions were in place for these exchanges.

Only First Rank Song family members (with Spectral Energy Guidance Technique lv10 or above) could initiate exchanges.

Moreover, each person could only perform the first type of exchange up to 1,000 times per year.

That is, one could exchange up to 10,000 strands of Zero Rank Floating Land Origin each year for 1,000 strands of First Rank Floating Land Origin.

The second type could be performed up to 200 times per year.

That is, one could use up to 3,000 strands of First Rank Floating Land Origin each year to exchange for 200 strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin.

The third type could be done up to 50 times per year.

That is, one could use up to 1,000 strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin each year to exchange for 50 strands of Third Rank Floating Land Origin.

Song Chi understood these restrictions quite well.

High-Level Floating Land Origin was already scarce in the Shattered Starry Sea; coupled with the large number of Song family members, it naturally exacerbated the shortage of high-rank origins.

In fact, not only the Dinghai Song family but also more than ninety-nine percent of other major powers faced this issue.

Moreover, the situation of the Song family was relatively good, as they could provide their clan members with an exchange of medium-high rank origins each year, while other powers fared even worse.

After all, possessing the Dragon Spine Continent, a level five Starry Sea Floating Land, they could independently cultivate numerous medium-high rank origins every year.

Furthermore, the positive cycle formed by nurturing the origin’s core with low-rank iterations each year meant that just the Dragon Spine Continent alone provided a substantial amount of medium-high rank origins annually.

They lived much more comfortably than many other powers.

Without much thought, Song Chi immediately produced 10,000 strands of Zero Rank Floating Land Origin from the Ancestral Torch and exchanged them for 1,000 strands of First Rank Floating Land Origin.

He then took out an additional 2,000 strands of First Rank, and together with the other 1,000, he exchanged them for 200 strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin.

Looking at the hard-earned Second Rank Floating Land Origin in his hand, Song Chi carefully stored it in the Ancestral Torch.

Previously, he had obtained 800 strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin all at once from Zhou Ping and a few hundred from that level two Starshine Civilization’s Floating Land, which gave him a slight misperception regarding its rarity.

The 200 strands of Second Rank Floating Land Origin that cost him 3,000 strands of First Rank to exchange, which he could only do once a year, corrected his misperception and made him realize the scarcity and value of Second Rank Floating Land Origin.

Thinking this, he took steps towards the next level once again.

On the twenty-ninth floor of the Merit Tower, Song Chi stopped for the third time.

His gaze shifted once more to one of the counters there, or rather, it wandered among several counters.
