Global Era of Star trekking

An instructor at First Torch Academy tells a new class of students, "half of you will awaken something you can't control, and the other half will spend the rest of their lives wishing they had," and nobody laughs because everyone in that room grew up knowing the world doesn't forgive weakness anymore, not since it broke apart.Whole planets and cities snapped loose and now drift scattered through the dark, and whatever's left of humanity survives on those broken pieces, fighting over scraps of a reality that used to be whole. The Torch Civilization pulled ahead of everyone else by mastering warships nobody else can replicate, ships that decide your rank, your safety, and whether you're protected or left to scavenge alone.Every citizen carries something called the Seed of Torch from birth, dormant until the day it wakes up and forces their body through a transformation that kills as often as it strengthens, and passing it just earns you a small scout ship and a spot in a competition that never really ends, chasing credit points and survival in a graveyard of dead worlds that already swallowed one civilization whole.
