Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife

That day, she abandoned her pride and knelt in the rain for half an hour in front of everyone, becoming the most laughable joke.

Elisa’s tears dropped down one by one, falling onto Hamish’s clothes and smearing into a patch. She hated him so much, but she hated herself even more.

Koby’s death made her unable to forgive Hamish and even more unable to forgive herself.

Hamish seemed to feel her hatred. His hands shook a little. The only thought in his mind was that if Koby really died, how could Elisa willingly stay by his side.

He absolutely could not let Elisa leave him!

The cell phone ringtone sounded, and Hamish came back to his senses. He held Elisa with one hand and took out his cell phone from his pocket to answer the call with the other.

The call was from Tobias. As soon as he picked up, an anxious voice came from inside.

”Mr. Burns, Koby committed suicide by jumping off a building on the way to the courthouse. He died on the spot. What should we do with the body?”

Hamish’s chest felt stuffed. A brief panic flashed across his eyes. For the first time, he was caught in a dilemma, not knowing how to respond to Tobias’ words.

He couldn’t help but hold the phone away, afraid that Elisa would hear the sound.

”Mr. Burns, give me a response. Does Koby’s death need to be told to Miss Powell?” The person on the phone asked urgently without getting a response. New chapters come out on nоvelceo.com first.

”I’ll go over there later. You deal with it first.” Hamish took a deep breath and hung up the call.

Elisa’s body had completely collapsed in his arms, as if she was dead. She closed her eyes and tears kept streaming down her eyes.

Hamish reached out to wipe away her tears. His fingers touched her eyes, and Elisa opened her eyes. There was only desolation and bleakness in her bloodshot eyes.

”I want to see him.”

Hamish replied, ”Okay, I’ll take you to see him.”

The blood on Elisa’s hands was smeared on Hamish’s clothes, and the rusty smell was sticky. Hamish was a bit obsessive about cleanliness and only frowned slightly when he saw it.

Just as he was thinking about how to deal with it, the nurse came out after finishing the paperwork.

Seeing the situation here, she hurried over, her face full of guilt and unease: ”Miss Powell, are you alright? It’s all my fault, I should have let you lie in the ward.”

Elisa was nestled in Hamish’s arms, her face hidden, but from her trembling body, it could be guessed that she was enduring tremendous pain at the moment.

The nurse didn’t know what had happened, but seeing the man’s gloomy face and the mess on the ground, she guessed they must have had a fight. This chapter was taken from novelceo dot com without permission.

The nurse instinctively felt afraid of Hamish. Men in high positions naturally carried an aura that could suffocate people. Usually just keeping a straight face without saying anything was enough to leave others gasping for air, not to mention now with such a gloomy face and frosty black eyes.

”Clean up the floor, I’m taking her out for a bit and will be back soon.”

”But Dr. Baker said she needs an IV drip.”

”Tell him I’ll bring Elisa back to the hospital within three hours. If he’s worried, he can call me. I’ll have someone from the hospital bring medicine then.”

What could she do when he said it like that? The nurse felt very guilty. She briskly tidied up the wheelchair and the IV tubing and medicine bags on the ground.

In front of this man, anyone would seem completely useless. Hamish put Elisa back in the wheelchair and took the gauze and disinfectant from the nurse to do a simple treatment on her hands.

The needle wound on her hand was about six centimeters long. The peeled skin looked painful with blood.

Elisa was very afraid of pain, but this time she didn’t even frown.
