Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife

Elisa Powell learns she has late-stage stomach cancer, alone in a doctor's office, with no family who cares enough to come along. Her mother died giving birth to her, her father treated her as a bargaining chip, and her husband Hamish has made it clear for four years that he never forgave her for coming between him and Lila Morris, the woman he truly cherishes. Before Elisa can find the words to tell him, Hamish drags her through the rain to the hospital because Lila is hurt and needs her rare blood type. Elisa gives it, falls asleep exhausted, and wakes to watch her husband tenderly comfort his first love through a half-open door. With little time left, she must decide whether to keep reaching for a scrap of his affection or finally let go.
