Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife

The person Micah was referring to was naturally Lila.

”Elisa is my wife, what right do you have to ask about matters between her and I?”

”Wife? Micah laughed upon hearing these words. If he wasn’t considering that this was a hospital, he would have pressed this damned scumbag to the ground and given him a good beating!

”Hamish, ask yourself in good conscience, have you ever treated Elisa as your wife? Where were you when she was hemorrhaging from her stomach? Where were you when she was going to the hospital alone to get treated and get medicine?”

Micah pointed at his chest, listing his crimes one by one: ”You were out with your mistress, drinking and having fun, plotting against the Powell family, sending Elisa’s father to prison!”

After saying this, Micah’s eyes reddened. He hated Hamish, but how could he not hate himself? If he had paid more attention to Elisa, her stomach condition would not have deteriorated into stomach cancer.

Micah’s breathing was already shaking. He had endured it for a long time, but still could not hold back the choking sobs in his voice.

”I really regret not stopping Elisa from marrying you. If she hadn’t married you, her health wouldn’t have deteriorated like this.” Get faster updates on novelceo . com.

Micah thought of Elisa in the ICU, thought of her stomach wrapped in cancer cells, thought of 4 years ago when Elisa had rushed to him, her face full of joy as she told him the news of her upcoming marriage.

At that time, Elisa probably hadn’t even dreamed this would be the result.

Micah shook his head: ”Hamish, you’re an animal!”

Hamish stood there silently. He wanted to refute it, but he couldn’t get the words out. His heart felt like it had been struck heavily by some force, and for a long time he couldn’t recover his senses.

He looked at Micah, but avoided his gaze, instead looking past him at the operating room door. More than anything, he wanted to go in and see Elisa.

Never in his life had he yearned so much to see someone.

”Hamish, do you love Elisa?” Micah asked.

Love? That word is so heavy. If he loved Elisa, he should have treasured her, not locked her in the bedroom for four days without food, not left her isolated and helpless in front of reporters, not made her kneel in the heavy rain for half an hour to wash away her pride.

It was laughable to speak of love. He shouldn’t love Elisa. What was Elisa to him? She was just something he had used and still felt a sense of possession over.

Micah gave a cold laugh. There were still traces of wetness at the corners of his eyes. He had promised Elisa to conceal her illness, but there were some truths that Hamish should see with his own eyes. Read the latest chapters at novelceo dot com.

”Come with me, I’m going to show you something.” Micah turned and walked into the operating room.

Hamish hesitated for a moment, then unsteadily followed after him. Inside the operating room, nurses were cleaning and sterilizing.

As soon as Hamish entered, he smelled the strong odor of disinfectant mixed with the smell of blood.

For a moment, he didn’t know where to look. It was as if he had unintentionally stumbled into a space that didn’t belong to him, completely out of place with his surroundings.

Hamish had always prided himself on being calm and collected. Even when faced with sudden situations, he would never panic or lose his head. This was the first time in 26 years that he felt afraid in the face of the unknown.

Micah glanced around and finally found an unattended plastic bin on a shelf that still needed to be cleaned out. Inside was the residual matter that had been washed out of Elisa’s stomach - the bloody paper pulp.

He picked it up and held it in front of Hamish’s eyes, forcing him to look. ”This is what was washed out of Elisa’s stomach. It’s what she ate recently. Do you know what this is? Toilet paper! It’s all undigested toilet paper!”
