Reborn in the 80s: The Smart Wife with a Secret Space

Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Almost Forgot the Important Thing

Yu Xinyan placed Siyan on the bed, while spreading out the blanket, she explained, ”Because your uncle calls her sister-in-law, you are your uncle’s junior, so you should call her aunt, right?”

Ye Sili nodded, ”Mm.”

Yu Xinyan saw him frown and gently said, ”But I’m an adult, and not your uncle’s junior, so I don’t need to call people according to his rank. Besides, I’m already so grown up, if I call her aunt, wouldn’t that make her sound old.”

Ye Sili seemed to understand something, but also seemed a bit unclear, ”But...”

Yu Xinyan patted his head, ”Alright, don’t think about it, we can each call her our way, it’s okay.”

Took Siyan out of the blanket, ”Do you want to play with brother, or take a nap?”

Ye Siyan stretched out his arms, ”Sister, hold.”

In my past life, I longed too much for a child of my own. Seeing him rely on me like this, my heart softened, and I held the little one in my arms, ”Then sister will rock you to sleep.”

Little Siyan hadn’t fully recovered yet, and looked a bit listless. He pressed his face against Yu Xinyan’s chest, let out a soft ”Mm,” and his tiny hands tightly gripped Yu Xinyan’s clothes, as if afraid she would leave.

Seeing this, Yu Xinyan felt a pang of sympathy, signaled to Ye Sili to speak quietly, hummed a lullaby, and gently patted his back. In no time, the little guy fell asleep.

After settling Ye Siyan, she let Ye Sili watch over his brother in the room, while she went to the kitchen to tidy up.

Luckily, the previous Sister Cuilin, although not very good-natured, and with poor table manners, was diligent enough, at least the kitchen was fairly clean.

This was the main reason why He Jinxuan agreed to let Bai Cuilin take care of the two children at the time; just because he had eaten at the Qiao Family before and saw their stove was kept relatively clean, but he didn’t expect Bai Cuilin to be that kind of person behind his back.

Yu Xinyan efficiently cleaned up the kitchen, thinking that no matter what, He Jinxuan had helped her, so she should repay a little.

After the fall yesterday, her leg was hurt again. She wanted to recover quickly, so she needed to eat more nutritious food; but right now it’s between seasons, there were only cabbage, potatoes, and radishes available.

These days, unlike in later times, one can’t buy out-of-season vegetables whenever they want.

Suddenly thinking of space, she patted her forehead, ”Almost forgot the main thing.”

Coming out of the kitchen, she went into Ye Sili’s room, seeing little Siyan still asleep, with Sili flipping through a small picture book, often called a comic book.

Seeing Yu Xinyan come in, Sili whispered sensibly, ”Sister, brother doesn’t have a fever, I just checked.”

Yu Xinyan felt a pang in her heart, this kid was only five years old, still needed to be cared for by others, yet had to grow up quickly due to a major change at home. She went up to pat his head, ”Okay, sister knows, Sili did a great job.”

Ye Sili was still a child, and felt very happy to be praised, ”Uncle said I am a little man, and since sister just got home and isn’t familiar, he asked me to help her more.”

Yu Xinyan didn’t expect He Jinxuan to be so thoughtful, thinking about what she needed to do next, ”Sili, is there paper and pen at home? Sister wants to write a letter back home.”

Ye Sili stood up, ”Yes.”

He walked over to the table by the window, opened the drawer, and took out a pen and paper, ”Sister, write here, Uncle usually writes letters here too.”
