Genius Club

Chapter 1140: Chapter 29: Road to Paradise (Thanks to the unparalleled boss of 37 for the Silver League reward!)

Lin Xian nodded:

“These days, I have been waiting for you to contact me as well. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have come to work at the company every morning. The purpose is to let you find me at any time.”

“I’ve even told the receptionist that if anyone comes looking for me or sends me any letters, they should just bring them to my office without any question or obstruction.”

“After all, I’m just a figurehead here. Usually, no one actually comes to see me. In short, according to my original plan, as long as Copernicus entrusts the investigation of the space-time particle to Jask, my plan would be half successful.”

He told Angelica in detail how he had lured Copernicus at the Genius Club.

And Angelica laid out all the arrangements on Jask’s end.

The current situation is.

Copernicus didn’t entirely believe what Lin Xian said at the party, but he knew that Jask had once successfully captured a space-time particle, so there must be detection devices, capture equipment, and a range of data inside the SPACE-T Company.

Therefore, he ordered his female secretary to verify the authenticity of the space-time particle intelligence.

Unfortunately, because Copernicus was overly cautious and secretive, never showing himself or making easy contact, he failed to notice that the undercover female secretary he had planted beside Jask… had already been switched for another.

In his eyes, the hierarchy looked like this—

Copernicus (commands) female secretary (directs) Fake Sike.

But in reality, the true situation is this—

Copernicus (commands) Angelica (cooperates with) Jask.

Lin Xian twirled a pen at his desk and hummed lightly:

“We have been played by Copernicus for so long, but now it’s our turn to play him.”

“Angelica, when you go back, pass on the intelligence I told you to Jask, let him fake a detection signal of a space-time particle, and claim that indeed a space-time particle entered Earth’s atmosphere on August 24th.”

“Copernicus will definitely order Jask to capture it, and I believe, given Copernicus’s caution, he won’t feel comfortable leaving the space-time particle outside during the hibernation… He’ll most likely want to keep it close to his own Hibernation Pod to feel at ease.”

“So, this is our only chance to locate Copernicus.”

“Whether he sends someone to fetch the space-time particle, or he wants you to deliver it to him personally, or he lets Jask install a tracker in an empty mini-fridge… In the end, Copernicus’s location will definitely be exposed, and we can use that to pinpoint him.”

…

This was the plan Lin Xian came up with in a moment of urgency.

Indeed, many aspects of it were not tight enough.

But it couldn’t be helped.

Seeing that Copernicus was about to hibernate for two hundred years, nobody knew where his secret Hibernation Base was located.

Currently, all the technology related to Hibernation Pods is open-source; the most challenging part, the Hibernation Pod Filling Liquid, has been mastered, and the side-effect medication has also been developed, making Hibernation Pods a mass-produced item with no real technological barrier.

A crafty rabbit has three burrows.

If this old man disappears from the world, coupled with the lack of any identifiable information about him, the likelihood of finding him is slim to none.

We must seize this opportunity.

“I understand.”

Angelica nodded:

“Jask is thinking along the same lines. He has plenty of spare mini-fridges to use, and faking the detection signal wouldn’t be difficult.”

“Have to say, Jask’s acting is quite convincing; lately, he’s been playing the role of Fake Sike, the fake version of himself… haha, playing a fake version of oneself, that’s no small challenge even for Hollywood actors.”

“Luckily, Jask is quite familiar with his own body double, so now his performance is effortless.”

Lin Xian stopped twirling his pen and, thinking of the intelligence he extracted from Copernicus at the last gathering, looked up at Angelica:

“I promised to find out something for you, and I did. I have confirmed that the person who killed Ji Lin’s parents and the group of mathematicians… is Copernicus.”

He stood up and started pacing in the room:

“Copernicus even proudly claimed that he is a kind person, a person with principles. He said for any child who becomes an orphan because of his murders, he would take care of them and raise them.”
