“I don’t mean actually trying it, not even turning on the power; I just… want to lie down in it to see what it feels like.”

He was truly curious.

According to his plan, once Liu Feng completes the Time Shuttle Machine in 2024, he would formally traverse time and space, burning up that entangled state space-time particle.

With the Time Shuttle Machine right before his eyes, naturally, he couldn’t resist the urge to give it a try and experience it in advance.

“No problem.”

Gao Wen directly opened the door to the cylindrical shuttle cabin and gestured Lin Xian to take off his shoes and climb inside:

“Climb in and just lie down straight.”

Lin Xian obediently climbed in headfirst, lay flat, and looked at the dark cylinder walls:

“It feels… somewhat oppressive.”

“That’s how enclosed spaces are.”

Gao Wen replied:

“Do you need me to close this shuttle cabin’s door for you to have a more realistic experience?”

“It is indeed uncomfortable inside when it’s pitch-black, but the preparation time for the Time Shuttle Machine is quite lengthy. From the moment you lay down and close the door until the machine officially starts up, it will take roughly more than half an hour.”

“During this time, you must lie there, unable to see or hear anything, just lying there with no way to converse with the outside world. This must be… the loneliest half an hour in a person’s life.”

Lin Xian closed his eyes:

“I can try it, but don’t really shut me in for half an hour, just a minute or two will do.”

“Understood.”

Having said that, Gao Wen slammed the door of the cylindrical shuttle cabin shut and tightened it.

From that point on,

There was not a glimmer of light within the shuttle cabin,

Not a sound,

Only the sound of Lin Xian’s breathing remained in the quiet.

If he held his breath, he could even hear the sound of his own heartbeat.

Indeed, as Gao Wen had said,

The feeling was awful, as if being extracted from time and the universe, with no idea of where one was, devoid of any sense of belonging.

“Sense of belonging.”

Lin Xian murmured this term.

Indeed.

Space-Time Travelers are essentially leaving their “home and hometown,” heading to a strange space-time and world.

What sense of belonging can there be?

He certainly knew that in a minute, Gao Wen would open the door, and he could step out, still standing in front of the familiar faces of Big Face Cat, the three juniors, and Xu Yiyi.

But…

It’s different for a real Space-Time Traveler; the moment they open their eyes again, they have already left behind their home and arrived at a place far, far away.

Suddenly,

Lin Xian thought of Huang Que and Lin Yuxi.

Before the Time Shuttle Machine was activated, they must have spent a long and lonely half-hour in such darkness and silence, alone with their heartbeat and breathing.

“What would you two be thinking at that time?”

Lin Xian closed his eyes.

As for what Lin Yuxi would be thinking, Lin Xian could somewhat guess.

It would surely be about following orders, completing the mission, capturing him and bringing him back.

“Sigh…”

Lin Xian exhaled deeply.

Thinking of that blue snow covering Donghai City, he remembered Huang Que’s blue eyes and blue earrings.

So what about Huang Que?

In this half-hour wait to travel through time and space…

What would Huang Que be thinking?
