Your Majesty, I need to use the restroom

It was a sunny day without clouds in the sky.

Pei Zhuang’s forehead was burning with pain under the scorching sunshine.

With her hair done casually, she stepped inside the empress’s palace which, to her surprise, was much cooler than that of hers.

However, there were no trees nearby...

Shaking her head in confusion, Pei Zhuang sat down, stretched herself lazily, and yawned with her mouth wide open and her tongue totally visible.

Her drowsiness was really repulsive to other concubines.

The emperor not only slept at Xuan Ji Palace every day, but also made her bed collapse!

How come she dared to act wildly in public by virtue of His Majesty’s indulgence.

We mustn’t let her off the hook!

All the people present had reached an agreement in privacy through eye-contact. Get faster updates on novelceo.com.

Concubine Yu was sitting beside Pei Zhuang, her nails embedded into her palms out of hatred. Being greatly enraged, she almost intended to pounce on Pei Zhuang and gnaw her with all strength.

The doors leading to the bedroom were pushed open all of a sudden.

Concubine Yue unhurriedly stepped outside. She caught a glimpse of Pei Zhuang before announcing coldly, “The empress doesn’t feel well today, so sisters, please return as soon as possible.”

She then changed the subject at once, “Madam Min, the empress requires your presence.”

Concubine Yue sneered secretly. She couldn’t understand why this crude and uncultivated woman, who yawned in public, was endeared to the emperor.

All the other concubines in the Imperial Palace were far better than this crude woman in terms of appearance and family background.

Was the emperor’s taste always that unique?

She had been married into the palace for more than a year. The emperor didn’t even show up on her wedding day!

If it weren’t for the empress, who had lent a hand out of kindness, she might have hanged herself much earlier.

Dwelling on the empress’ plan, Concubine Yue curled her lips slightly upwards. Let the fat slut bear the brunt instead! She wanted to see who on earth would bring about this twat’s downfall!

Under the piercing gaze of all the concubines, Pei Zhuang hurried into the empress’ bedroom in panic. As soon as she entered, a comforting and refreshing fragrance rushed into her nostrils.

The empress was leaning against the soft cushion.

Pei Zhuang curtsied with a smile. “Your Majesty.” Enjoying the story? Read on at NovelCEO.

The empress seemed to have been used to her carefree nature. “I heard that you have stirred up trouble again?” She said gently, “Having been married into the palace for so many years, you should behave yourself and set a good example for young concubines so as not to let rumours about you spread. As my only intimate friend at the palace, please don’t let me down.”

It sounded as if the empress would entrust her child to Pei Zhuang before her death, which made Pei Zhuang’s flesh creep.

Had the empress figured something out? Or did she have some sort of an agreement with the previous owner of her body?

It was evident that the jerk, Gu Jinghong loved the empress. However, he not only often slept at Xuanji Palace, but visited Pei almost every day.

How come the empress would rather give her husband to another woman?

The owner of a dog would protect his pet from being harassed by strangers, not to mention her dear husband, the handsome and powerful emperor.

Was she up to something?

Pei Zhuang stared at the empress for a good while, but still had no idea what her plan was.

Rubbing her clothes to alleviate her nervousness, Pei Zhuang pretended to answer with a gentle smile, “What I did was really impertinent. All the concubines at the palace must obey the empress’ order. As a humble good-for nothing, how can I set a good example for the other concubines?”
