Rebirth: Super Banking System

”Chai Dashao, you really are something. When trouble arises, you don’t call me right away. Even if you don’t call me, you could call my friend, the butler. Anyway, you come back first, and continue with the necessary affairs. The sky is not falling down.”

At the obviously educational tone,

Chai Ren felt not the slightest discomfort.

Because he could hear much from Tang Qing’s tone, which was full of confidence, as though he didn’t care at all about Fuloz’s arrest. This made Chai Ren involuntarily recall the last time he had been rescued.

”This, how should I put it?” Chai Ren asked with a hint of suspicion.

”I’m already aware that Fuloz has been arrested, and I know the reason why. I also know who is behind it and their motives, but for now, I cannot tell you.

It involves quite a few important figures from Congo Gold, and as you know, knowing too much about certain things isn’t good. All I can tell you now is that this matter has nothing to do with us. We just need to focus on conducting our business,” Tang Qing said slowly.

After hearing Tang Qing’s words,

Chai Ren felt as though he had taken a reassurance pill.

If Tang Qing said there was nothing to worry about, then there shouldn’t be.

”But, what about Fuloz?” Chai Ren asked cautiously.

”His problem is rather serious. He previously facilitated numerous illegal projects, collected kickbacks, and such as selling mineral deposits, like we do, wouldn’t create much of an issue.

However, he once facilitated the bidding process for a reservoir dam.

And just last night, the dam suddenly collapsed, killing quite a few people downstream, and one of the dam contractors turned himself in, revealing a lot of information whether it’s true or false, Fuloz won’t be getting out any time soon,” Tang Qing explained.

At that moment,

Chai Ren finally understood the reason for Fuloz’s arrest.

It was different from what Zhou Huo had said earlier; it seemed Zhou Huo didn’t mention the dam collapse. But comparing both accounts, Tang Qing’s words certainly seemed more credible. It wasn’t that Zhou Huo couldn’t be trusted; it was just that his information was slightly off.

He really wanted to know who was behind it.

But remembering Tang Qing’s earlier reminder, Chai Ren still refrained from asking.

”I understand, I’ll have someone continue to follow up on the project, to start constructing the infrastructure according to the original plan. Little Tang, you really scared me this time. I thought I would be arrested too,” Chai Ren said with a bitter smile.

Living as a second-generation was too suffocating for him.

Other second-generation kids stayed safe at home; if they were bored, they could go to clubs or salons for some fun, enjoy gourmet food, bully people, and live a joyous life. But here he was, traveling around the world, even to dangerous places.

And facing danger time and time again.

Really... Chai Ren was starting to question his identity as a second-generation.

”Don’t worry, Chai Young Master. We just need to focus on our business. Why would they arrest you? You contribute to the GDP. Who would bother with you? Fuloz’s situation will be Moi’s concern; after all, he is the President of Congo-Kinshasa. He should have ways to save his own son,” Tang Qing consoled.

”That’s true. Why should I worry about this?”

Chai Ren also showed a smile on his face.

But at that moment,

The assistant hurriedly knocked and came in, speaking anxiously, ”Chairman Chai, there are some African police downstairs. They say they need you to go back for some investigative assistance, and their people are on the way up here.”

Chai Ren’s smile froze on his face.

Damn it.

What was going on?

He had barely been happy for a minute.

This had nothing to do with them, right?

On the other end of the phone, Tang Qing was also puzzled because he hadn’t received any message about asking Chai Ren to come back for an investigation.

After his moment of confusion,

What followed was Tang Qing’s face turning grim.

Damn it.

Just after I said Chai Ren wouldn’t be involved, Fuloz’s situation wouldn’t result in African police knocking on the door, yet the next second, here come the African police wanting to take someone away. Isn’t this a slap in my face?

Tang Qing’s mood turned foul right away.

Damn it.

Had they become too comfortable with their good lives, needing me to give them something to stay occupied with?

He wanted to see.

Who exactly was being so brash.
