Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 817: Chapter 817: I Don’t Want You to Be Too Tired

However, Jiang Jingya quickly thought of her Old Four and slapped her forehead, saying, ”Look at me getting all excited, almost forgot my Old Four.”

Huo Shanhe then realized too, ”Yes, Jingrui and they are returning to Beijing for their wedding at the end of the year. This means Jiayuan and their wedding will have to be postponed.”

Mother Lu, Sun Yinghua, nodded, ”That’s indeed the case.”

Although Lu Licheng was anxious, he also knew that haste makes waste; after all, certain protocols should be followed.

The Lun Family couple understood, realizing that there has to be an order of things.

Later, the two families agreed that after the college entrance exams they would first get engaged, setting the wedding date right after the May Day holiday next year.

On the other side, Huo Jingrui had just completed the final handover at the machinery factory, ”Yi’er, I’ll quickly tidy up the house in the family compound and come back to pick you up.”

Yunyi leaned into Huo Jingrui’s embrace, ”You just focus on what you need to do, don’t worry about me here. If time is tight, you don’t have to come back for the exams; I’ll head to Beijing by myself then.”

Huo Jingrui held her tighter, ”I’ve spoken with Director Qiao, and barring any special circumstances, they won’t have you perform surgeries.”

Yunyi couldn’t help but smile, ”Since I’m leaving in two months, there’s no point in making more demands. I’ve told you I can handle it; why can’t you relax?”

Huo Jingrui rested his chin on top of Yunyi’s head, ”I just don’t want you to be too tired.”

Yunyi knew it was for her own good, and since he had already talked to Director Qiao, she decided to go with the flow, ”Okay, I get it.”

As they talked, perhaps Huo Jingrui’s craziness really wore Yunyi out, as she fell asleep while they were still chatting.

Huo Jingrui only noticed she was asleep when she didn’t respond.

He placed a kiss on her forehead and then fell into a deep sleep holding her.

He truly didn’t want to leave Yunyi alone here, but he had to return to the camp ahead of time, and before Yunyi returned to Beijing, he needed to get the family compound house ready according to her habits, doing his best to ensure her comfort.

The next day, Huo Jingrui took care of everything he could think of for Yunyi, and then set off on the road back to Beijing with reluctance.

Once Huo Jingrui left, Yunyi really didn’t get used to it for a while. After all, these days, as long as the two were together, Huo Jingrui was always hovering around her, not letting her lift a finger for anything at home.

He said that although he couldn’t let her live as luxuriously as in her past two lives, he would do his best to ensure she lived comfortably.

While they were together, she didn’t feel it as much, but once apart, she found herself constantly reminded of his kindness.

Yunyi couldn’t help but shake her head and laugh, realizing that guy must have had a plan all along.

Once Huo Jingrui arrived in Beijing, he immediately called, ”Yi’er, do you miss me?”

Before Yunyi could respond, he continued, ”No sooner had I left than my mind was filled with images of you, wishing I could get off the train and bring you with me.”

Yunyi chuckled softly, ”You’ve really changed.”

Huo Jingrui quickly asked, ”How have I changed? I can’t see it.”

Even though Yunyi couldn’t see his expression, she could roughly guess and teased, ”You’re getting more and more smooth-talking.”

Huo Jingrui, upon hearing this, seriously defended himself, ”Yi’er, you’re wronging me here. Every word I’ve said is from the heart, and the heavens can testify.”

Yunyi, afraid he might take it seriously, said, ”Alright, I know, I was just joking, look how anxious you got.”

Huo Jingrui was about to say something else when Jiang Jingya pushed him aside, ”Yiyi, it would be great if you could come back with him.”
