Ministers Begging Me to Ascend the Throne

”They haven’t transported the weapons and private soldiers back to Great Zhou, so Father can’t sentence them to death. It won’t cause too much turmoil.” Zhao Yao wasn’t very concerned about this matter, ”What about Prince Han?”

”Prince Han bought a lot of war horses from the Western Regions and is raising them on the Xiongnu Grassland.” Hidden Guard A continued to report, ”Modu Chanyu has been poisoned; it’s a forbidden drug from the Western Regions.”

”When do they plan for Modu Chanyu to die?” Zhao Yao wasn’t surprised by Modu Chanyu’s poisoning.

”After Prince Dai acts according to their plan.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Yao smiled with amusement, ”So they successfully persuaded Prince Dai?”

”Yes, Prince Dai agreed to cooperate with Prince Han.”

”So the Beauty Trap worked so well?”

”Your Highness, the woman is already pregnant, and Prince Dai plans to take her as a concubine.”

”Tsk tsk tsk, even heroes can’t resist the charms of beauty.” Zhao Yao propped his right hand under his chin, smiling playfully, ”There will be a real spectacle to watch when Prince Dai returns to the capital.”

”The Third Princess persuaded Modu Chanyu to temporarily give up invading Great Zhou from the south. It won’t be long before Prince Dai sets off for the capital.”

”Just in time for the Annan incident to break out.” Zhao Yao’s fingers lightly tapped on the desk, lost in thought, ”I wonder how Father will deal with Prince Dai.”

The Hidden Guard A didn’t answer Zhao Yao’s question.

”By the way, what about the Southern Wei people?”

”Previously, the Emperor issued a decree to arrest the Southern Wei people, causing them significant losses. Currently, the Southern Wei people within Great Zhou are not a threat.” Hidden Guard A reported, ”Most of the Southern Wei people killed by the Emperor’s decree were not Lord Wei’s men.”

”So, in issuing the decree against the Southern Wei people, Father ended up helping our eighth brother.”

”Yes.”

Zhao Yao asked again, ”What about the Southern Wei people on the Xiongnu side?”

”On the surface, they’ve joined forces with the Third Princess and her allies. Prince Han is pleased with this.” But little do they know everything is under Lord Wei’s control. Prince Han and the Third Princess were scheming against Prince Dai, but all along, they were being played by Lord Wei. ”Currently, most of the power within the Xiongnu Royal Court has sided with the Third Princess.”
