Ministers Begging Me to Ascend the Throne

Chapter 359: Chapter 220: Born to be an Emperor - Part 4

”Alas, fighting is not a long-term solution, so there really isn’t a genuinely good way.”

”Hearing you say that, does it mean that in the future, Great Zhou will be the realm of the civil officials?”

”Yes,” Zhao Yao replied with great certainty, ”Fourth Brother’s words should be able to balance the relationship between the civil and military officials quite well. However, Fourth Brother still somewhat leans towards the civil officials, thus laying the groundwork for the civil officials to dominate the court later.”

He Lianfang was amazed in his heart: This kid is thinking so far ahead, and he’s right about everything. Even he hadn’t thought of this.

This kid is naturally cut out to be an emperor!

”If it were you, what would you do?”

”Me?” Zhao Yao furrowed his brows, pondering carefully, ”I don’t know what to do either.” How could a child of six know what to do? ”However, perhaps I could support a new force to counter the civil officials. This new force could check the civil officials.” Wait, in the world of Zhao Yao’s dreams, there seemed to be an emperor who did this, but it seemed like he eventually failed too.

He Lianfang asked with interest, ”What new force do you plan to cultivate?”

Zhao Yao shrugged and said, ”I don’t know.”

”You can think about it carefully now.”

”Ah, why should I think about this?” Zhao Yao looked puzzled, ”I’m not going to be emperor in the future.” Why should he bother with this?

”When you grow up, won’t you get a title and a fiefdom? Don’t you need to manage your fief?” He Lianfang was amused by Zhao Yao’s words, ”Aren’t there civil and military officers in your fief too?”

”Oh, right.” Hearing He Lianfang’s words, Zhao Yao finally remembered this matter.

”Do you want your fiefdom to be controlled by the civil officials alone in the future?”

Without thinking, Zhao Yao said, ”Of course not.”

”Then you need to think carefully now about how to balance the civil and military officials.”

Zhao Yao said with a pained expression, ”This is a big problem, not one that a six-year-old child should be thinking about.”

”It’s related to your future fiefdom matters, if you don’t think about it, who will.” After hearing Zhao Yao’s words, He Lianfang believed that this kid could come up with a good plan.

Zhao Yao pouted and said, ”I suddenly don’t want a title anymore.” He just wanted to travel around and eat all the delicious food in the world without dealing with these troublesome matters.

”Unless you’re degraded to a commoner.” He Lianfang sneered, ”Once you’re demoted to a commoner, you’re not far from death. Do you want to live with a title, or do you want to die?”

Is there even a choice? Of course, he chose: ”Live with a title.” Why else was he a prince? Zhao Yao once again inwardly resented his status as a prince.

”Even if you don’t want to fight for the throne, you must do a lot of things. Otherwise, you only have one end.” He Lianfang said coldly, ”Death!” This stubborn kid thought that not fighting for the throne meant all was well, he’s too naive.

Even if he doesn’t compete for the throne, he will be forced into it without needing his teacher to step in. As a prince, he was involved in the struggle for succession from birth.

Zhao Yao didn’t want to die, so to grow up smoothly and go to his fiefdom, he had done so many things.

”Alas, I’m just a six-year-old child, why do I have to go through this...”

He Lianfang said coolly, ”Who told you to be a prince.”

”When I grow up, perhaps the aristocratic families won’t be entirely diminished by my father, so for now, I don’t need to worry about the civil and military officials’ issues.”

”Just because it’s not a concern for now, doesn’t mean the issue doesn’t exist?”

Zhao Yao pursed his lips and said, ”It does exist, but the most important thing now is to counter the aristocratic families, right.”

”Do you have a way to counter the aristocratic families?”

Zhao Yao’s heart skipped a beat; he didn’t expect He Lianfang to see through him. He shook his head quickly, waving his hand and said, ”No, how could I have a way to counter the aristocratic families.”

”You do!” He Lianfang looked sharply at Zhao Yao, ”Speak up!”

Does Uncle have the ability to see through minds?!
