Having An Affair, Hattie's Tear

Hattie froze, and then she shook her head.

”You are no longer my friend.” Owen’s eyes flashed with ecstasy, he uncontrollably grabbed Hattie’s hand excitedly, and he even wanted to kiss her cheek.

”Hattie...”

”You are my relative, the relative that Keith and I care about most.”

”Relative...” All the fiery feeling in Owen’s chest were thoroughly chilled by her. He only felt the pain in his heart, and even his heart was torn up, he still smiled and said to her, ”Yes, that’s what I thought.” It was good to be a relative, at least he could stay with her all the time He could accompany her for one year, for two years, or maybe for a lifetime, that was enough. Hattie froze, she knew how cruel she was, but at that moment when she saw Owen calmed, her heart ached a little.

For so many years, she knew what Owen meant to her, and she saw it in her own eyes. But she knew very well that gratitude was not loved, and it was the greatest injustice to him if she was really separated for the sake of gratitude. That man deserved a unique, stable, and good relationship, not a self-deceiving love. She felt guilty about Owen, so she left and refused him, and she even took her child far away. But Owen still found her. He said, ”Hattie, a child’s growth needs a stable environment, and the bumpy and drifting life is not suitable for him.”

He added, ”Hattie, I do not ask you to love me, I will try to divert my attention to others, but before that please let me accompany you.” She owed Owen so much that she could not pay it back for the rest of her life. The two of them stood in front of Ivan’s tombstone, they felt the breeze of the wind, and finally, Owen slowly opened his mouth.

”Ivan, don’t worry, I will take good care of Hattie.” Owen stretched out his hand and put his arms around Hattie’s shoulder. That time, she did not dodge again. . On a sunny morning, Hattie was awakened by the shrill of her alarm clock. She groaned and pressed the mute, and then covered Keith’s body with the quilt. She walked out of bed carefully and went to the bathroom, but she frowned.

”Isaac, what are you doing? It’s only six o’clock in the morning!”

”Hattie, I’m running out of patience.”

”What do I care if you are running out of patience? I’ll hang this up.” Hattie hung up the phone, she was in a good mood but it was not enough, the phone rang again.

”You do it.”

”Hattie, think of the Gevero family.” Before he had finished his sarcastic remarks, he was interrupted by Hattie. Isaac did not want to use this method to force Hattie, but there was no way. When he saw Owen holding Hattie’s shoulder, and she did not refuse he was completely out of control. He could not let Hattie fall in love with another man, and even by despicable means, he could never let another man take her away from him!

”So now you are trying to threaten me with my family?” He gritted his teeth, his blood all over his body was burning, sneering.

”If you don’t agree with me, you will destroy my family? If I don’t agree with you, you will destroy the industry handed down by the Gevero family from generation to generation?”

”I’m sorry, but the Gevero family has nothing to do with me for a long time. Do you want to threaten me with my family? Save it!” Her voice was colder than Isaac, as sharp as a blade, and she felt vaguely that she had made a huge mistake. After a moment of silence, Isaac tried to fix it.

”That’s not what I meant.”

”That’s not what you mean?” Hattie sneered, ”Then what do you mean? Let me tell you plainly that the Gevero family can be destroyed if you want. You can destroy it anytime! You don’t have to call me to let me know. Thank you, bye!” Then, Hattie hung up the phone briskly, but the fire in her heart was hard to extinguish. She thought that Isaac had changed, and softened towards her but the truth was she was deceiving herself and others. She was thankful for her mental handicap a few days ago, she thought that the two of them were in such a good state.

Her mind didn’t process for a while and her chest beat rapidly. The moment Hattie hung up the phone, Isaac almost collapsed. He began to fear, if she did not care about the Gevero family, then what else? What else he could keep her by his side, what else could make her continue to love him? Isaac was on fire and felt that he was burning out. It was not until an hour later that he dialed someone on his phone again. His voice was stronger than before, with determination.

”You don’t care about your family, so what about Owen?”
