”The Main City is much larger than the other five cities in the region. Itʼs not just the size—itʼs more populous, too,” Darcie explained, her voice steady but with a hint of reverence. ”You can find anything related to magic here. Spells, artifacts, rare materials... itʼs the hub of everything.”

Her words only added to the growing excitement bubbling within me, but her tone quickly turned serious. ”Most of the people here are members of the True Elements Society. Before you explore, you should learn the dos and donʼts of this city. People will stare at you. You stand out here, so take care of yourself.”

Her eyes met mine, conveying the weight of her advice. ”Thank you, Elder, for your guidance. Iʼll be careful,” I promised.

”Here,” she said, handing me a communication device. ”Save my contact information. If you encounter trouble, send me a message. I can at least offer some advice, if not more.”

I nodded and quickly saved her contact. It felt strange, having such a direct line to someone as influential as Elder Darcie, but comforting nonetheless. As I did so, the Black Airship slowed, approaching the sprawling complex that housed the True Elements Society.

Looking out the window, I saw that the cityscape below grew denser. Buildings stood packed together, each one a marvel of architecture, some glowing with faint magical auras. But as we neared the heart of the city, my eyes were drawn to an even grander structure looming in the distance.

”Is that... a palace?” I asked, my voice almost a whisper.

Darcie followed my gaze and smiled. ”Itʼs not just any palace. Itʼs a Magic Palace.”

”A Magic Palace?” I echoed, mesmerized by its towering spires and intricate design. The entire structure seemed to radiate power, its walls etched with runes that shimmered in the sunlight.

”Only level-10 wizards have the authority to build these palaces,” Darcie explained, her voice low, almost reverent.

”Theyʼre called Palace Masters, and they are some of the most powerful elders in the True Elements Society. Not every level-10 wizard builds one, though. Some choose to explore the world, while others... well, the ʼnerd types,ʼ as you might call them, spend their lives locked away in research, hidden within their palaces.”

I couldnʼt tear my eyes away from the palace as we glided closer. The architecture was a blend of the ancient and the futuristic, with towers that seemed to touch the sky and walls that pulsed with magic.

The sheer scale of it left me breathless. These were not just homes; they were symbols of power, knowledge, and status in a world governed by magic.

But as the airship began its descent, Darcieʼs voice brought me back to reality. ”Weʼve arrived,” she said, standing up. ”You can learn more about the city and the Society later. For now, focus on settling in.”

I nodded, but my heart was pounding with a mixture of anticipation and awe. The journey had only just begun, and already I felt the weight of the world I was stepping into.

The door of the Black Airship swung open with a low groan, and I stepped out cautiously. As my feet touched the ground, a strange sensation washed over me—an unfamiliar combination of anticipation and unease. The air was cooler here, thick with magic, as if the very ground was humming with energy beneath my boots.

I scanned my surroundings, unsure of what to expect. ”I wonder who will introduce me to this place,” I thought, my eyes drifting over the entranceway of the True Elements Society.

The sprawling complex ahead was grand, towering over us, with shimmering magical barriers faintly visible in the distance, protecting its secrets.

Behind me, Darcie stepped out of the airship with practiced ease. Without a word, she raised her hand and touched the gemstone on her storage ring.

In an instant, the enormous Black Airship vanished from sight, as if swallowed by the ringʼs magic, leaving only a gust of wind in its place. The ease with which she manipulated such powerful artifacts reminded me just how far I still had to go in mastering magic.

”Letʼs wait here,” Darcie said, her voice calm but firm. ”Iʼll inform the higher-ups.”
