The Useless Miracle Doctor Consort Is Spoiled Rotten by the Prince!

Chapter 1159: Chapter 1155: The Vortex at Home

“The people who escorted me back were from Yangzhou Prefecture! Tomorrow, the bailiffs sent by Lord Wang will accompany me to bring out father’s coffin. The emperor ordered re-examination of father’s body! It’s best that you weren’t part of the group that caused father’s death.”

Otherwise, she would definitely demand their lives for her father’s!

Wang Ao was dumbfounded, “You you you…”

Before he could even curse at Wang Yun, Wang Yun had already stormed into the manor, along with dealing with those who guarded her door.

Because she was being treated as a disobedient Miss, she swung her arm and yelled, “Today you lock me up, and tomorrow it will be the bailiffs from Yangzhou Prefecture catching you! Weigh the gravity of both situations yourselves!”

The servants exchanged looks. Previously, they listened to Young Master Wang Ao and naturally did not take the Miss seriously; they would lock her up if deemed necessary and treated her harshly.

But now, with the officials from Yangzhou Prefecture at the door, if tomorrow they really were to be incarcerated…

One by one, they shook their heads and withdrew.

No one wanted to enter the dreadful prison of Yangzhou Prefecture!

Inside the house, Wang Yun was planning the exhumation for the next day, considering which personnel to take, and how to carefully avoid damaging her father’s coffin. She meticulously strategized each detail, and it was dark before she knew it, having forgotten to even dine.

Just as she finished some planning and had written down her plans, her mother, Meng Shi, burst into the room crying.

“My daughter, how could you disturb your father’s grave? This act is utterly unfilial!”

Meng Shi, in her thirties and still charming, cried with tears running down like raindrops, very much evoking sympathy.

She wept and reproached Wang Yun for disregarding filial piety and family values, unearthing the grave and opening the coffin after her father’s death was truly inappropriate!

Wang Yun knew well that her mother could cry, so she simply let her cry.

Meng Shi was usually strict with subordinates, but exhibited weakness only in front of her two children, “Yun Er, your brother managed your father’s death, and the case is being investigated by the Lord of the Prefecture. You, being just a daughter, why must you insist on getting involved and muddy the waters? How will you marry someone in the future? What family would willingly take you in once they hear of your actions?”

Wang Yun poured herself a cup of tea, “Is that all, mother?”

“More?” Meng Shi clutched her handkerchief, stunned, then began incessantly, “Not to mention whether you can marry out or not, just by arguing with your brother and offending him, the person in charge of the household, how will you manage in the days to come? Without the support of your maternal family, the love of your maternal relatives, how will a woman establish herself? The property your father left you will all be taken back by him! You… you will have nowhere even to cry!”

“Anything else?” Wang Yun drank a second cup of tea.

“My daughter! Please don’t worry your mother anymore! Hurry and return to the Lord of the Prefecture, tell him we are no longer pressing charges, we won’t trouble the emperor anymore, or open the coffin for examination! Let’s end this matter here! After all, your father has passed away! Why must you still disturb him, depriving him of peace?”

Meng Shi pleaded earnestly, with every word imbued with her deep maternal love, hoping Wang Yun would calm the waters and not push herself to a dead end.

After letting her mother cry out, Wang Yun sipped on her tea and caught her breath before stating all her thoughts in one go, “Mother! I’m telling you today, as long as I, Wang Yun, live, I never plan to rely on Wang Ao, that inept brother, for my future! Whether or not I can marry doesn’t concern me, I can live by the property father left behind, buy a house to live alone if it comes to it, and I also have some shops to manage. I can sustain myself with good management. As for father’s death…”
