Our Dirty Little Secret

The person who was talking to her at the moment was just a child under the age of four, but he can already feel that others were either very sad or happy. He staggered onto the chair, stood up and put his arms around Elly’s neck and whispered in her ear. ”Auntie, I’ll tell you a secret. Dad wants me to stay here, so if you hit him, I forgave you wholeheartedly.”

”Oh yeah?” Elly smiled and hugged him, with the fear that he might fall, and calmly asked, ignoring Alex’s thoughts.

Kitten said earnestly. ”Really! I care too much about aunt Elly!”

Elly’s smile paused for a moment, but she soon regained consciousness, sat solemnly on the chair, stretched out her arms and sprained her cheek. ”Handsome! Do you know what it means to care?”

”Yes, yes.” Kitten shook his feet, looked sideways at Elly and betrayed Alex. ”I heard you were cooking stew in the kitchen. I hope the pain in your leg will be healed soon.”

She was surprised that she did not know that Alex had done these things for her behind her back. He never mentioned or talked about it.

Elly felt something in her heart and asked her in a tender voice. ”When I found out you were eavesdropping, I told you not to tell your aunt. Your dad said, you can care about a person as long as you know them. Don’t you understand?”

She didn’t answer her, but stroked his soft hair. Unconsciously, she looked up at the closed studio door, and Elly’s eyes sparkled with tenderness and warmth.

Somewhere else, the Russel family.

Seeing the news on the Internet, Elizabeth’s expression became ugly and twisted. In the title of the article, warmly welcomed by all parties of public opinion, Kitten had been protecting Elly everywhere, this kind of behavior is the envy of Elizabeth.

”Is this what you call a plan?” Elizabeth threw her cell phone out of the window in an impatient tone. ”What impact do you think these scandals will have on Alex? He is a man who steps on public opinion and never cared about these false rumors. The man is a big mountain and is not easily shaken by cats.”

Elizabeth looked at Mr. Russel seated on the opposite side in frustration. She said angrily. ”If this is what you call revenge, I’ll take care of it myself. The news will only bring Alex closer to Elly, and Alex will have a reason to protect her.”

His eyes sparkled and Elizabeth screamed. I won’t let her get carried away.

In order to avoid reporters, Elly did not come to the company for two days. She was afraid that the reporters will find out that she was living with Alex’s family and she doesn’t want to go to the office to listen to the gossips being spread by her colleagues.

When the water was boiling, Elly received a call from John.

”Elly, can we meet?”

Elly didn’t want to have anything to do with John anymore, so she politely refused.

”Well, then, I’m in some trouble. So I’m going to be restricted from going out. Have you seen the news lately?”

She thought John understood her situation, but he was surprisingly stubborn.

”Elly, let’s meet!”

”Well, it’s not convenient for me.”

”I want to see you!”

The sullen voice spread over the phone, which dealt a blow to Elly’s kind-hearted nature and softened her heart. After hesitating for a few seconds, she couldn’t bear to refuse. ”I’ll text you the address.”

”Okay, then. I’ll wait for you.” After Elly agreed, John ’s tone was obviously lighter.

As soon as Elly opened the door, she saw him stood there and looked up at her. ”Where is Elly going?”

”Are you eavesdropping on adults again?” Elly had a headache about the boy’s habits. ”You sit down and listen carefully. I am going to see a friend and we will meet outside. I promise I’ll bring you a present when I get home.”

”No, no!” The boy shook his head and staggered. ”Dad said you would be locked up at home for three days, and if you go out alone, he would be in trouble. I made a promise not to let my aunt sneak out to play.” Kitten also informed her and asked her to listen.

Elly knew she wanted to be nice to him, and considering John’s mood, she still didn’t have the heart to let him down.

Elly was dumbfounded with laughter, and her voice seduced her gently. ”Kitten, this friend is very important to your aunt. So, I have to see him, okay?”

Her words were so deep that no matter how smart he was, Kitten was only a child under the age of four. He could not understand Elly at all.

”Are your friends more important than you?” This little boy was only concerned with this issue.

”Yes, sir.”
