Virginity Sold (Book 1)

Waking up after a night of partying is the worst thing in the world, the stinky smell of alcohol is perceived in the environment, the headache is considerable but nothing to worry about, putting on my best face, I look at myself in the mirror and smile, I’m terrible.

Ready and having breakfast, I wait for my friend at my house, today is the big day, Mr. Hamann will put more than his hands on me, today he would deflower me for a million and a half dollars, yes ... for a million and a half dollars, my madness is incredible.

”Tomorrow ...” Shouts my friend entering as if it was her house, actually it is. Our friendship has been going on for more than fifteen years, we have been friends since I arrived in Panama when I was only three years old.

”Mani ...” I answer the greeting.

”Ready for your rich batch?” She asks, raising her eyebrows, her expression makes me laugh.

”I’m trying not to think about it. Are we going out again today? Mom is like this ”you must go out more, you can’t be here with me always.”

My friend laughs at my bad imitation, “of course we’re going out today even if I have to put up with your stupid boyfriend. How can you be with such a boring person? Or well, that makes him believe.”

I frown, “Carla I don’t want to start with that again, come on, mom must be waiting for our visit.

“Come on, let’s go,” she screams as if a cavalry is following her. She’s crazy!

When we leave home we go straight to take the bus. ”Have you talked to Mr. Hamann?” My friend asks, checking her cell phone. ”There are as many interested in your virginity.”

I snatched the cell phone from her hand and check it, it’s true, there are many men including women. ”No, I haven’t talked to him, he just sent me the test results yesterday and nothing else.” I look at the device and am incredulous. ”Please ... even foreigners!” I flicker from what I see. ”If I hadn’t gotten ahead of myself, maybe one of those wouldn’t be as superb as Mr. Hamann,” I purse my lips.

“Do you know something?” She takes her cell phone away from me, “you are sweet and you always see how beautiful people are even though they are a shit with the world, but with Mr. Hamann you give him very hard, you just attack him.”

I think about it, she’s right, “I hadn’t noticed, maybe the man doesn’t have anything good.” I shrug. My friend just laughs, I don’t pay attention to her. When we get to the hospital we go straight to the floor where my mother is, as always the doctors leave the room smiling.

”How loving,” my friend scoffs, “your mother is loved, it’s always like that.” She’s right, when she’s not pushing people away she’s being nice.

”What can I say ...” I smile, and then I saw my mom with a canvas and several paintings. ”Mamma, what are you doing?” I asked smiling.

”My girls,” she separates herself from the canvas and hugs us each, ”I was painting Dr. Harry.” I frowned, I don’t know who she’s talking about, “the chubby little doctor, the one who’s been taking care of me.” I smile at the memory.

“I want to see that,” Carla hurries, when she arrives in front of Mom’s work she is left with her mouth open, “you must teach us everything you know, it’s beautiful.” Without waiting for anything, I place myself next to my friend.

”Mia mamma! What technique is that?” I ask surprised, the handsome man is not handsome, but Mom’s work is extraordinary as always.

“It’s watercolor girls, it is simply a mixture to get the precise tones, very dangerous work by the way, but you are good at what you do, over the years you will acquire more experience, that’s why I tell you, when you have a boyfriend, draw him asleep,” she laughed, Mom is quite liberal, she could say that she is a hippie.

”That ... I like it that way, those tips are the best,” Clara said.

I rolled my eyes, “that’s why we are as we are, you take the bad advice and I take the good advice, we should change roles from time to time, don’t you think?”

My friend immediately refused, ”I could never carry that advice with subtlety and like you.”

Changing my expression, I cross my arms, “and why not? Mom was just like you and look at her, now she is quite an experienced.”

”She’s right Carla, you should start to see things with different eyes and not wait for life to give you the hell out of you for you to change, we are women and we are capable of everything, never forget it.”

My friend drops her shoulders, ”I know ... I know, but when I want to say something to a person, it comes out like a beast, not like you.”
