Transmigrated as the Ex-Wife of a Heroic Man

Chapter 1359: Chapter 1359: Can You Forgive Me?

“What… what gift are you planning to give?” Su Qing asked hesitantly.

Zhou Hengguang smiled slightly, began to count on his fingers, “I’ve considered quite a lot recently, starting with things children like such as toys, clothes, shoes, and milk powder. But Big Brother and sister-in-law will probably have those covered, everyday items are too cheap to be presentable, it must be something special.”

“What’s special?” Su Qing asked curiously.

She didn’t know what could be considered ‘special’ to someone like Zhou Hengguang.

Zhou Hengguang looked at Su Qing intently, his eyes bright and lively with a hint of a smile, giving off a dazzling brilliance, “I’ve already got it figured out, I’ll personally design and construct a skyscraper with a special significance.”

“What?” Su Qing thought she heard wrong, her eyes wide with surprise, she incredulously asked, “You’re saying you’ll construct a skyscraper?”

“That’s right! My own design, an unusual one that blends architectural beauty with modern trends,” Zhou Hengguang said, his interest piqued as he spoke about his area of expertise. He then stopped and casually took out a pen and a beautifully bound notebook from the bag he was carrying, and started to sketch out designs.

Looking secretly, Su Qing noticed that the bag he used was the first one she had given him. From its patina, she could tell it was often used.

As Zhou Hengguang drew, he also voiced his ideas, including the building height, design concepts, and how to solve complex issues like wind resistance and earthquake-proofing, among other things.

Zhou Hengguang talked more and more, his expression growing increasingly focused—Su Qing had never seen him like this before.

His intense concentration was radiant, under the soft yellow light, even his pen, notebook, and every line he drew were sparkling.

Realizing she was staring, Su Qing quickly pretended as if nothing had happened and turned away, not daring to keep looking.

“It’s getting late, I should be going back,” Su Qing didn’t want to stay any longer, fearing that the more she stayed, the more her resolve would waver.

“Thank you for having me today.”

“Wait, let me take you home,” Zhou Hengguang said urgently, grabbing Su Qing’s wrist. She wasn’t prepared, and when she turned around, she stumbled unexpectedly into Zhou Hengguang’s arms—he instinctively wrapped his arm around her waist.

The feel of a man’s strong arm against a woman’s soft, slender waist is indescribable.

It felt as though all the blood in his body rushed to his arm, sensitive, excited, heart racing… the unfamiliar emotions left them both stunned.

Su Qing was astounded.

So was Zhou Hengguang himself; the moment exceeded his expectations. It was true he had plenty of social experience, but his romantic experience was truly zero.

When other boys were playing with girls as a child, he was utterly disdainful.

He never liked playing with girls, so when he reached the age of students, while other boys were busy chasing the girls they fancied and dating, he just thought it was a waste of time and wasn’t interested.

In his younger uncle’s words, nobody could strike the right chord with him.

So he hadn’t had an awakening yet.

Zhou Hengguang always responded with a cold laugh, unperturbed. Later, he purposely got close to Su Qing, and then things got more and more out of his control, entwined in chaos.

He had thought about it for a long time, indecisive and hesitant, as days became increasingly difficult to bear, he finally made up his mind.

But no matter how hesitant or reflective he had been before, unwilling to admit anything, none could compare to the heartbeat he felt at that very moment.

Zhou Hengguang came back to his senses, showing a genuine smile to the girl in his arms. He leaned over, lowered his head, and with an unbelievably gentle voice coaxed, “Qingqing, don’t be mad, okay? Forgive me this one time. I swear if you forgive me just once, I’ll be willing to do anything you ask.”
