“We’re heading back then. It’s rare for you both to come over today, so I’ll make us some delicious food. Otherwise, I’d have too much to prepare myself.” Qin Xue looked at the substantial amount of groceries, all of which were edible. If they cooked less, it might not be enough. But making too many dishes could be time-consuming.

“Okay.” Chu Xiaoqiao had no objections, and An Hao wanted to learn how to cook too. She had learned during her confinement period that having meals not prepared to her taste could be an ordeal.

The three of them headed home with their purchases and went straight into the kitchen. Cooking was their top priority.

“Xue’er, why are we preparing so much food today? Are we expecting guests?” Chu Molin asked his wife after seeing the table laden with dishes upon his return home.

“No, there are no guests coming. An Hao came over and wanted to try my cooking, so we all went out to buy groceries. We ended up buying quite a bit, so let’s just eat. “It’s fine. I can afford it. Just let her buy whatever she wants.” Li Zhao said casually.

“Aren’t you ashamed to say that? You’re making it sound like the boss doesn’t have any money.” Li Zhao was speechless. The boss was their business partner, who also had a share in the profits.

“No, I’m not.” Qin Xue was all smiles as she turned to look at Chu Molin. Seeing that he didn’t seem to be angry made her even happier.

“Boss, are you hiding some private stash of money? Did you not give all the money to your wife? Otherwise, why would she say such sour things.” Li Zhao asked Chu Molin, looking suspicious.
