Springtime Farming: A Happy Wife At Home

Chapter 2437: Shao FamilyEditor: Henyee Translations

Tian Shanshan harbored deep contempt for Shao Liulang. When he attempted to force himself on her, she was both shocked and enraged. With no affection for him, she resisted fiercely.

In a moment of anger, she smashed a vase over Shao Liulang’s head, causing him to scream and lose consciousness. Panting and sneering, she gritted her teeth in fury. How dare he try to assault her!

Determined to protect herself, Tian Shanshan went further and broke Shao Liulang’s legs, ensuring he could no longer threaten her.

Her greatest regret was not dealing with Qiao Xuan decisively. She had hoped for a conflict between Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan that might benefit her, but it had only led to her downfall.

Now, she was determined not to repeat her past mistakes.

When Shao Liulang awoke, he was nearly driven to madness by his situation. With his new disability, he realized there was no way to reverse his fate.

He would never hold an official position again.

Filled with anger, Shao Liulang divorced Tian Shanshan. Shao Yunduan was pleased to see the Shao Family’s association with the Tian Family come to an end.

Tian Shanshan was returned to her family, while Shao Liulang was sent back to the Shao Family. With his disability, Shao Liulang required no further attention.

Shao Liulang only had himself to blame for his predicament.

What Shao Yunduan didn’t know was that unexpected trouble was brewing in the Shao Family village.

Second Uncle and Third Uncle were incensed by Shao Yunduan’s claim to the throne and incessantly pressured Eldest Uncle. Second Uncle was particularly defiant, refusing to sever ties with Shao Yunduan and insisting on maintaining the family bond, despite the tensions.

Eldest Uncle, though sympathetic, was unable to stand up to Ms. Fang and their children.

The situation escalated to violence. In a fit of rage, Second Uncle and Third Uncle physically confronted Eldest Uncle. During the struggle, Eldest Uncle fell and injured his waist. Even if he could be treated, he would be left with a permanent disability, unable to stand straight.

Ms. Fang was furious and barred the two families from her home. She reported the incident to the clan, leading the Clan Leader to intervene. He punished the Second and Third sections of the family by confining them to the ancestral hall for a month, as a lesson in discipline.

Second Uncle and Third Uncle were terrified at the thought of what might happen if Eldest Uncle’s condition worsened. They feared that Shao Yunduan would not spare them.

When they emerged from the ancestral hall, they went to the First Section of the family to apologize. However, Ms. Fang had them turned away and refused to let them in.

”If you’re not satisfied, stay in the ancestral hall!” she declared. ”If the Second Section wishes to sever ties, then let it be. As for the Third Section, as long as they are fed and clothed, they should be grateful and keep their demands to themselves.”

The Second Section was left feeling both angry and helpless, unable to act or change their situation.

After things settled, the members of the First Section moved to the capital. Shao Yunduan rewarded Shaoding Village generously, and the Clan Leader expressed his deep gratitude. He was aware that the Second and Third Sections were now under strict supervision, including the crippled Shao Liulang, who could no longer cause trouble.

As for Shao Xiaozhi, after years of selective matchmaking, she had married a minor landowner. When Shao Yunduan became the Emperor, she attempted to divorce him to marry an official. However, the clan intervened and disciplined her.

Seeing her brother’s plight and her parents’ ineffectiveness, she dared not create any more trouble. She was no longer welcome in the First Section and knew better than to make demands or cause a fuss.

The First Section had always looked down on them, and with her father’s recent violent actions against his own brother, Shao Xiaozhi understood that there was no hope of gaining any favor.
