The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride

Chapter 278: The truth of Arizona’s lies (End) They sat in the room, facing each other, not saying anything as both of them needed time to comprehend things and get a good of their emotions.

Nathaniel’s heart was still beating fast, his emotions tearing him piece by piece.

Arizona took a deep breath and started the tale of the past.

”Elliana’s mom, she was a powerful dark witch. When she was in her last trimester, her powers were overtaking Elliana’s weak body. The pregnancy shouldn’t have happened in the first place. But I can see where Eros came from. He wanted a kid he could keep by his side, not someone -”

”Not someone he will have to send away again because the world wouldn’t accept him,” Nathaniel completed her sentence, and Arizona gulped, not adding anything anymore.

”When the nanny told Eros that the baby would never be able to survive and they should kill her using their magic, Eros was broken. I had never seen him cry like I saw that day, and no matter what happened with me, I loved him with everything I had and still have,” Arizona stood from her place before she went to the almirah and pulled out the agreement.

She placed the agreement in front of Nathaniel.

”I was always supposed to be his wife. But my mother never agreed for me to marry the lord of the dark witches. She denied it and made me sign this agreement or she would’ve killed herself. I had to do it, but even after that, I couldn’t bury my feelings for him,” Arizona took a deep breath and walked to Nathaniel, sitting beside him as she

”Eros asked me to help him with the task and do anything and everything I could to save Elliana. When he gave up his life and his powers for the baby, he had never thought that she would be born still. There was a slight chance, but we were hoping for the best,” Arizona took out another set of documents and placed it in front of Nathaniel.

”These are the agreements we made, and the promises that I am still keeping. You wanted to know why I am making Elliana’s life hell when I am not even her mother, right? Here are your reasons,” Arizona opened the file, and Nathaniel read all the old manuscripts that were written in the familiar writing he knew.

”We had already talked to the queen of the sirens who was on the verge of death. She had come to us seeking help. Her family members were trying to steal her energies and giving her poison. When she found out about the poison, it was already too late, and the only thing she could do was not let her powers enter the wrong hands. That’s why when she came to us, we thought of this plan,” Arizona said, and Nathaniel’s brows were raised.

”So you locked the powers in Elliana? Even after knowing her delicate body won’t be able to handle it?” Nathaniel asked.

”That was the cost of letting her live. It’s because of those siren powers that she got to live. Elliana, her soul had left her body, and it was the queen’s siren powers only that called it back. It’s a process that is a secret only to the chosen one.

The queen was the chosen one, and because of that, she became the target of her family. She called Elliana’s soul back and locked her powers into it with a ten-lock system. Only the power of true love can actually unlock it one by one,” Arizona said, and Nathaniel heaved a sigh of relief.

It was a good thing. So far they haven’t met anyone who loves Elliana like the one needed for this unlocking ceremony. The first lock that got unlocked, might just be because Elliana has started to develop feelings for that vampire prince, which makes it even more important for them to separate them.

Nathaniel thought.

”However, the king’s energies, Elliana’s own energies shared with her mom, and the siren’s powers were too much and the soul that the queen called, started drifting off within two minutes of the queen’s death. That was the time when we had to use the last resort we had kept for the worst-case scenario. The sacrifice,” Arizona said.

”The sacrifice that brought her back to life,” Nathaniel said, and Arizona hummed.

”We had to get a human baby for this purpose. The human baby was none other than King James’ illegitimate daughter. That lady Galicia didn’t know what to do with her child. She was in depression and wanted to kill her child because of the lack of money and resources. At that time we proposed her the deal. Strangely she said she would let us sacrifice her daughter, but there was a condition,”

”A condition?” Nathaniel asked.
