Reborn as an Ugly Wife in the Countryside

Chapter 1107: Chapter 1109: I Heard You Can Cut Off BoneYang Ming stood there for a long time without speaking, quietly sorting through everything in his mind.

Is there really no other way than leaving the child on the mountain?

Thinking and thinking, Yang Ming fell into despair. Xue Zhiyi’s words were true; if they insisted on taking the child out, it would likely be a death sentence, not just for the child, but potentially for their whole family.

He was on the verge of compromise; maybe this was the only way for everyone. Just as he was about to agree, his eyes suddenly brightened, and he hurriedly shouted, ”I have a solution.”

Seeing Yang Ming’s ecstatic appearance, Xue Zhiyi was somewhat surprised. He had also gone over this issue repeatedly, concluding that leaving the child on the mountain was the best solution. He could not think of any other option, could Yang Ming really have devised a better plan?

He asked, ”What solution?”

”Brother Xue, if the child doesn’t have six toes, then we could take them out, right?”

”...” Xue Zhiyi felt a bit helpless, but the child does have six toes!

”Brother Xue, your medical skills are excellent. Could you perhaps remove one of the child’s toes so they appear like a normal person?” Yang Ming proposed a solution.

He had just been too anxious and muddled to remember such a thing.

When they were returning from Lin County and encountered officials looking for escapees, he and his wife discussed that they could remove the child’s toe.

Xue Zhiyi could hardly believe it; Yang Ming proposed such an idea. This really posed a difficult problem for him. Their medical skills were mostly reliant on herbal treatments, and occasionally, serious injuries required setting bones or removing flesh, but only in situations where there was no other option.

For such a matter, where someone is perfectly fine, yet needing to cut away bone, they truly had never done such a procedure.

Seeing Xue Zhiyi not respond, Yang Ming continued, ”I heard you can cut away the bone and then sew the skin together with stitches, the flesh will grow naturally.”

Yang Ming spoke very unprofessionally because Xiaoxiao was not a professional person; Xiaoxiao only knew that surgery and suturing were possible.

Hearing this, Xue Zhiyi’s eyes brightened; perhaps this was a bold attempt worth researching well, ”You should stay in the mountains for now, give me some time.”

If this matter succeeded, the child could leave the mountain. Actually, he couldn’t bear to leave the child on the mountain either. After all, a child’s growth is better in a normal living environment, and he couldn’t bear to see the couple separated from the child, knowing their affection.

”Hmm.” Yang Ming agreed with a nod, no matter what, there seemed to be room for negotiation in this matter.

Yang Ming initially wanted to leave, but suddenly realized something, and said, ”Brother Xue, my wife might seek you for treatment regarding her inability to conceive. Could you please say you are not skilled in that area?”

”What’s wrong?” Xue Zhiyi was quite shocked; a few days ago, when he said there was still a chance for Xiaoxiao, Yang Ming had been very happy and hurried back. He thought Yang Ming would tell Xiaoxiao, but now it seemed he had not said anything, why not treat it?

”My wife longs so deeply for her own child, if she knew there was even a little hope, she would surely exhaust herself taking medicine. I fear she would suffer without it leading to a cure.”
