Chapter 1173: Chapter 685: Hold the Line! Not One Step Back! (Part 4)

Slowly, more and more people stepped out of the queue and ran towards the buildings behind them in District Three. The entire city was without power, and some people even climbed over eighty floors, wrapping all their clothes in bed sheets and bringing them along.

Following that, some even brought their kitchen knives, and suddenly, in that long, boundless line, one-tenth of the people chose to leave, giving priority to others.

Compared to this queue of over five million, one-tenth equals five hundred thousand, a terrifying scale, even ten times larger than the Parents’ Meeting or Federation.

Some young women chose to stay: ”I have learned first-aid medical knowledge, originally wanted to work as a nurse in a hospital, but they eliminated me when they saw I was from District Three. I see you have stockpiled medicine, don’t send it all behind that door, leave some, and I’ll bandage your wounded.”

Saying this, they even called the neighbors, moving promotional tents from roadside shops to set up several temporary treatment points.

But when they cut open the clothes on those wounded, tears couldn’t help but fall.

They saw everyone’s wounds had deep blood marks, the filthy rats had bitten them, and without prompt cleaning, they began to fester.

Yet these were the very people who had just fought for them.

A nurse shouted to the crying crowd: ”Don’t just stand there, hurry and help!”

The defenses in District Three were originally very simple, because the disaster came too suddenly, families could only lift kitchen knives and use their lives to block gaps, unable to do anything else.

But now, those refugees were actually helping to complete what a defense line should have: a rear medical point and a rest point for warriors.

The elderly women even started building a cafeteria, taking out whatever food ingredients they could still process, just to give a hot bowl of soup to the families to warm them.

Xiaosan watched this scene and suddenly realized what the parents were saying, that when you sincerely treat the world, the world will certainly reward you.

This is the public sentiment needed by the Parents’ Meeting.

After the disaster is over, these people will remember the good of the Parents’ Meeting, and then the Parents’ Meeting will have the ability to continue changing the world.

”Thank you all, but please stop putting clothes on me,” Xiaosan said anxiously, because he already had seven pieces of clothing hanging around his neck, looking like a clothes rack.

Over fifty thousand people went to collect clothes, kitchen knives, and frying pans, then rushed to hang them on the families, which was really unbearable.

These people were excessively cold at first, then excessively warm.

Only when the elderly women spoke out to maintain order did the refugees gradually become rational.

Xiaosan said: ”Everyone keep transferring and evacuating with peace of mind, and we will definitely hold this defense line before you all evacuate!”

Even if it requires life.

At this moment, someone shouted through the walkie-talkie: ”Xiaosan, the rat tide is coming again!”

The families turned back, and everyone returned behind the defense line, preparing to fight.

Xiaosan whispered to Qing Shuli: ”The parents previously explained, if the rat tide returns within two hours, it means the other side wants to continually exhaust our energy, preventing us from eating well or resting well. This is still not the crucial moment; we must find a way to let everyone rest.”

Just then, the elderly woman appeared, with a coat around her neck that looked like a warrior’s cloak, holding two kitchen knives in her hands, saying: ”I’ll help guard too!”

Xiaosan: ”...”

Qing Shuli: ”...”

Xiaosan had never been this speechless in his life.

He turned to face the rat tide, waiting for those beasts to arrive: ”Those who can still move, follow me and continue fighting, hold the line! Not a step back!”
