Doctor Shenʼs thoughts, ʼThis person is different from that undercover police. He intended to kill me without hesitation!ʼ

”Shit!” Doctor Shen ran away but Hei Yuhua didnʼt pursue him. Wei Lou tried to run after the man as he saw that Hei Yuhua wasnʼt chasing.

Hei Yuhua stared at them with emotionless eyes. His silver eyes look colder than the temperature of the ice rain falling on his head. No one noticed the trembling legs under him as well as some traces of blood tinting his white shoes together with mud.

The same evening in the middle of the night, almost at dawn, near the house of the second surviving victim from last yearʼs serial killing. Docter Shen who was on run bumped into a police officer hiding in an alley near his final victimʼs house. 

”There are lots of police protecting her like this. Thankfully, I made some preparations in advance and ask that man to work for me,” mumbled Doctor Shen as he hid in the corner treating his stabbed wound in his right shoulder.

It was the same wound Hei Yuhua stabbed mercilessly.

Hiss~

”Who the fuck is that man?! He looks like an omega but how can he have that much strength on his slender body. He is more dangerous than that thug police officer! Anyway, I need to hide first... This place is the safest.” murmured Doctor Shen as he stole the officer clothes he took from the police he had just killed in the alley. ”I can use that man...” then he looked at the dead body of the officer and thought of a plan to control the current situation and avoid being caught by this man who just arrived.

Then he saw someone running towards the house who was wearing a black suit. It was Yun Jie who is wearing the disguise of Jie Yun. After his conversation with Hei Yuhua at the abandoned church, Yun Jie hurriedly ran away and went to the recorded address of the second victim whom Officer Ying Wu had interviewed the last time.

Yun Jie stood in front of the house gate for a long time. He even forgot to bring an umbrella with him when he ran out. As a differentiated omega, he might be stronger than normal omegas but... He wouldnʼt be stronger than ordinary alphas. Bathing under such a cold and almost freezing rain would definitely make him sick. Even so, he still stood there without any reaction as he hesitated to knock on the gates.

One of the hidden police protecting the house recognized him as someone from Prosecutor Ye Yuyanʼs team. They gave him an umbrella though it was a bit too late as he was already soaked through by the rain.

The police officer who approached him asked, ”Sir. You are someone who worked with Prosecutor Ye and Captain Ying Wu right? Was there a problem?”

Jie Yun stared at this police officer then suddenly approached him and smelt a strong scent of medicine on him. But he is a medic from Officer Ying Wuʼs group on a mission to protect the last surviving target of the serial killer.

”The first surviving victim was killed tonight. I came over to check for the other surviving victim,” answered Jie Yun.

The police officer was startled. As if backing up Jie Yunʼs words, the phone possessed by the police officer suddenly rings.

Ring. Ring.

”Yes, Officer Shen is speaking! EH!? Captain Ying Wu!”

Then the police officer personally received a call from an unknown number calling himself Officer Ying Wu. The weather these days is so bad that call reception is very affected by it. There would be more flinching sounds whenever having a conversation on the phone.

”Yes, I understand. I will bring more comrades with me to protect the target.”

”Actually, captain. One of Prosecutor Yeʼs team members is here. Yes, he just arrived.”

”No, it is not a young man in hoodies. But an adult man in a suit. Yes... I will give him the phone!”

Passing the phone to Jie Yun, Police Officer Shen said, ”Police comrade, Captain Ying Wu wanted to speak with you on the phone.”

{Since when did you get there. Did he say something about the second victim?}

”I only dropped by to check if she is okay. How was the other one?” asked Jie Yun. He indirectly changes the topic and prevents Police Officer Ying Wu from asking him why he is here.

Police Officer Ying Wu responded, {Too late. She was already gone by the time we arrived. We are trying to search the whole area as the killer must have not gone too far. Please stay there and protect the last surviving victim. Are others with you?}

Jie Yun responded, ”No. I donʼt know. I came alone.”
