It was extremely painful for him to watch but he must bear everything to complete the trial. He keeps his patience watching the scene of death and suffering from lifeless eyes. He had longed to stop reacting to his loverʼs death. Not because he didnʼt care but because he turned a blind eye to it.

In the last world, Ancient. 

The wide and huge palace in old times. Thereʼs a palace garden and mansions where consorts and concubines live. At the center is the court hall where the ministers gather to meet with the Emperor. In this world, Ye Xiajie is the Emperor.

He is a tyrant that was feared by everyone. He had ordered his generals for the conquests of usurping the whole country under his reign. He filled his harem with decorative consorts and concubines. They were allowed to live there but they were unable to see the emperor no matter what. All the ministers in the palace knew that their ruler doesnʼt like others touching him and those who had dared have now been buried thirty feet under the ground. He doesnʼt care whether it was male or female as long as they are useful for increasing his power he would marry them in but not touch them afterward.

Because of this, there are some ministers who choose to side with his younger brother, the highest duke in the capital. He had married a few strong families to back him up but a tyrant and a ruler, Ye Xiajie was immovable. They could only take an opportunity to poison him slowly and take his life in an undignified manner.

In this world, since it was the last, the Origin had allowed Hei Anjing to take on a vessel of one of the more characters. He is now an unknown soldier in the palace of the Emperor. He could only accept the result rather than keep a cautious side towards the unknown person which in the end, he would even be more open towards this unknown person than the others. This unknown person would never forget to send gifts for occasions like his birthdays and special festivals. There would always be things left in his room that his servants havenʼt noticed were left there unless he points it out.

This strange situation made Emperor Ye Xiajie realize that the identity of that unknown person that helps him is never normal. His existence is even more special than what he knew and so he turned a blind eye to everything regarding that person. But what he noticed is that this person would never directly get involved in his decisions in life.

If he wanted to marry anyone he could. If he wanted a city to be his then he could invade it. If he leaves the palace this person would also accompany him. Hei Anjing played as his shadow. A shadow he could only feel but never see, touch or hear.

Their lives continue this way. Emperor Ye did as he wished to do. His goal is world peace, ending the war times era in his generation. He caused too much death that can be accumulated as bad karma. But he didnʼt stop and he had finally gotten the whole country under his control and was about to retire as the emperor.

But as per the plot of the world, he would still have to die under the hands of the new rightful protagonist of this world, the eldest son of his younger brother and his eldest nephew. The one who was bestowed by the title as the Benwang.
