Bringing The Nation’s Husband Home

Chapter 120: In and Out of Filming (6)

The second day after returning back to the set, filming resumed as usual, from morning till late at night. It was mainly scenes with Song Xiangsi, Cheng Yang, and Lin Shiyi. Only late at night it was Lu Jinnian and Qiao Anhao’s turn.

This scene was of their back view and happened at night. The second male main lead hadn’t been home for several days and suddenly came back drunk, treating the second female lead as his one true love, kissing and even confessing to her.

Everyone in the industry was aware that up to now, even when the scene required, Lu Jinnian would never really kiss the actress.

Hence, the director informed Qiao Anhao prior to the scene that they wouldn’t actually be kissing. Even so, it was still the first time she was filming a kiss scene and was jittery the entire day.

The moment the director shouted for them to prepare, Qiao Anhao entered the set, sitting down on the sofa to watch the television.

When the director shouted start, all the cameras were directed towards her, circling around the small room scene.

Only when the director was satisfied did he signal Lu Jinnian.

To get into the mood, Lu Jinnian had drunk a little alcohol. Before it could take effect, he staggered into the room at the director’s signal.

Hearing footsteps, Qiao Anhao turned towards the door. Once she caught sight of Lu Jinnian staggering into the room, preparing to remove his shoes, she immediately went over to help him and supported him to the sofa. Just as she was about to get him some water, Lu Jinnian suddenly grabbed her, pushing her onto the sofa.

The filming was flawless till here. The next part was for Lu Jinnian to look at Qiao Anhao with a drunken gaze before gradually moving forward to kiss her.

But just when he was about to lower his head to kiss Qiao Anhao, the director shouted ”CUT”, and continued, ”Mr. Lu, your expression isn’t good, retake!”

This was the first retake for Qiao Anhao and Lu Jinnian after so long, and it was actually because of him.

The filming restarted from the beginning. It wasn’t clear if Lu Jinnian wasn’t in the right mood or some other reason, but whenever he was about to kiss her, something would pop up.

”CUT, Mr. Lu, the angle of the kiss is off.”

”CUT, Mr. Lu, you need to see Xiao Qiao when you kiss her.”

”CUT, Mr. Lu…”

”CUT..”

Multiple NGs followed. The director was so irritated he disregarded Lu Jinnian’s position and shouted, ”NO, NO! Rest for ten minutes. Mr. Lu, go and get yourself in the mood! MAKEUP ARTIST, TOUCHUP.”

The audience had started to gossip when they saw Lu Jinnian’s poor performance.

Lu Jinnian’s face sank, and after he had his makeup done, he seemed to have come to a decision. He told the director beside him, ”For the kissing scene, I’m going to really kiss her.”
