Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Jiang Ruan was already beautiful, and today she wore a rather bright lotus pink modified qipao, which immediately caught Yan Chi’s eye as he walked out of the elevator.

The overall decor style of the Yan lobby was predominantly dark.

Suddenly, amid the dim surroundings, a strikingly eye-catching vivid color appeared, making it hard to ignore.

Their eyes met suddenly—

One had a rare cold and stern expression, while the other was as brilliant as summer blooms and autumn sunshine.

Jiang Ruan smiled at him politely but, raising her eyes, she collided with his gaze, dark as the night.

This man...

Long eyebrows, black eyes, a prominent nose, thin lips, everything about him, including his gaze, seemed aggressive and invasive.

There was a sense of deadly danger about him, making it clear to anyone that a person like this should not be easily approached.

”Who is that?” Yan Chi inquired.

”Not sure, should I ask? Could be a client.” The Yan Family had always had a high-end jewelry customization business, but dealing with clients was naturally not something Yan Chi needed to handle.

”No need to ask.” Yan Chi shifted his gaze from Jiang Ruan and prepared to head towards the front door.

”The car is already parked at the entrance.”

...

Jiang Ruan originally thought he was coming to pick her up, but in the end...

He looked at her briefly and then left!

He really left!

He even walked around her to leave, without coming over to say a word of greeting.

What kind of situation is this?

Jiang Ruan wasn’t someone with a particularly bad temper, but this kind of behavior was a bit over the line.

She frowned, unable to care about much else at the moment, quickly walking a few steps to chase after him.

”Hey—” The security guard in the Yan lobby saw what was happening and hurriedly prepared to block her.

The commotion behind caused Yan Chi to notice, and he turned his head to glance backward, only to find the little girl in the qipao had followed him out. He scrutinized her with a blank expression.

”Senior Yan, I’m from the student council responsible for interviewing you.”

Yan Chi was expressionless, though inwardly slightly surprised:

Why is she a junior?

”Didn’t we agree on Friday at ten?” Jiang Ruan reminded him, staring at him, and then Yan Chi said with one sentence:

”You’re late.”

Jiang Ruan: ”...”

I arrived fifteen minutes early, and you say I’m late?

Yan Chi, you have no heart!

Yan Chi thought this junior was rather pretty, but being late for such a thing couldn’t be glossed over with a good-looking face. He believed that for agreed matters, unless there’s a special reason, being late and not sending a message or calling to explain the situation was a serious principle issue.

Good looks without principles, none of it works for him.

So after he finished speaking, he turned around and planned to leave.

Jiang Ruan could accept criticism. If she were really late, she would apologize, but she couldn’t stand being accused for no reason. She gritted her teeth, ”I wasn’t late!”

Yan Chi stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her, ”It’s already ten fifteen now.”

”I arrived at nine fifty. Your company’s front desk asked me to wait. I thought you were busy. It’s you who didn’t honor our agreed time, not trustworthy, and without principles. It’s not my fault.”

Jiang Ruan felt that the interview wasn’t important, but she couldn’t be wrongfully accused.

”What did you say? I lack principles?” Yan Chi sneered lightly, while the secretary at his side nervously glanced at the front desk reception, the few people feeling guilty, because they had indeed received the call but didn’t let her in.

”There’s surveillance in the lobby. If you don’t believe me, you can check it.” Jiang Ruan didn’t lie; naturally, she wasn’t afraid.

Yan Chi glanced at the handful of front desk receptionists, who lowered their heads, afraid to speak, and he roughly understood the situation in his heart.

Looking at Jiang Ruan, his eyes were inexplicably meaningful.

Yan Chi was the Yan family’s child born late in life. Although his father was strict, he was also spoilt. Mainly due to being the child born late, he was relatively young but held high seniority. Coupled with having older parents, he matured and became wise earlier than his peers. Thus, he was accustomed to holding a strong demeanor.

Now...

To be confronted by a little girl accusing him of having no principles!

That was indeed a first.
