Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Regarding Tang Yunxian finding a partner, Tang Wan expressed support but was also curious about how the two hit it off. After dinner, she had an in-depth conversation with her father.

When she returned to her room, Jiang Jinsang was busy working on the computer.

”Where’s Mutang?”

”Sleeping with Grandpa. How was your chat with Dad?”

Tang Wan smiled helplessly. Considering the precedent of Zhang Liyun, while she didn’t want to think badly of everyone, she was also worried that the lady wasn’t with her father out of genuine affection.

Fearing future troubles, she couldn’t help but ask a few more questions.

”That lady isn’t originally from Pingjiang; she only came because her daughter got married here. She followed along and took over a family restaurant. Because my dad often dined alone there, always in a suit, coming and going alone, he seemed very lonely by appearance. That lady felt sorry for him and would give him extra dishes and occasionally chat with him.”

”She probably didn’t even know my dad’s last name at first.”

Being not originally from Pingjiang and not following financial news, it’s normal not to know Tang Yunxian.

Tang Wan laughed helplessly, ”She might have thought he was a pitiful, lonely old man with no children.”

”She probably pitied my dad at first.”

...

Jiang Jinsang let out a low chuckle.

”How did they end up together later?”

”My dad didn’t say specifics, but when he talks about her, I feel he’s happy. And he brought it up proactively, so he must have it figured out.” Tang Wan said.

”Before, he chose to remarry considering the care of you and Grandpa. You should trust his judgment; it shouldn’t be bad.”

Tang Wan nodded, ”I’m actually quite curious about what that lady looks like.”

”Didn’t Dad say that when the time is right, he would introduce her to us? What’s the rush?”

”She might become part of our family in the future. I’m not just curious; I’m anxious. I’m dying for Dad to bring her home tomorrow. Aren’t you the least bit curious?”

Jiang Jinsang looked at her smilingly, ”We’ll meet eventually. What’s there to be curious about?”

**

Tang Wan initially had nothing to do in Pingjiang, preoccupied with concerns about her father. If she wanted to inquire privately, she could find out the restaurant’s location. Otherwise, she would have sneakily checked it out.

Finally, she waited for Tang Yunxian to arrange a meeting.

They agreed on dinner. After a nap, Tang Wan started getting ready.

”It’s just dinner. Do you need hours to prepare?” Jiang Jinsang rarely saw Tang Wan this nervous. Even hosting an exhibition, she didn’t dress up this much.

”I’m a bit nervous.”

”Didn’t you previously say you wanted to check her out for Dad? Why the sudden timidity?” Jiang Jinsang teased.

”Do you think I should wear the black one, the red one, or this purple one?”

Though Tang Wan was hard-mouthed before, when she really met the person, she was too polite.

The other was a nice and pretty woman, speaking and behaving elegantly, warm and approachable. Perhaps because it was the first meeting, she seemed a bit reserved at first.

With some people, first impressions are key, and Tang Wan found her nice on the first impression.

Only Jiang Xiaowai didn’t know her, and since Tang Wan and Jiang Jinsang hadn’t explained clearly to him, the little guy came up and greeted:

”Hello, Auntie!”

She looked young, around forty, well-maintained. Normally, calling her ’Auntie’ was fine, but the little guy immediately turned and called Tang Yunxian ’Grandpa,’ and the atmosphere became awkward.

”Not Auntie.” Tang Wan coughed.

”Call her Sister?” Jiang Xiaowai looked at everyone’s expressions, feeling it wasn’t right. What should he call her?

Big eyes, full of question marks.

After getting to know her, Tang Wan liked her a lot, and even the old Tang was very satisfied.

When ordering, she was considerate of the elderly’s dental issues or cared for Jiang Xiaowai, paying attention to details.

The meal was enjoyable for everyone.

Tang Wan didn’t expect her to ask for a private meeting.

It’s not the first marriage for either party, so there must be concerns. She straightforwardly said she wasn’t after the Tang Family’s money; it didn’t matter if they registered the marriage. If so, they could prenup the finances.

”Auntie, I didn’t mean that...” Tang Wan didn’t expect her to be so direct.
