Jiang Zhaolin followed the secretary all the way into Jiang Chengsi’s office. During working hours, he didn’t encounter many people, and the décor of the office area was simple, understated, solemn, and reserved.

He hadn’t been in such a company for a long time and recalled the days when he was influential at Jiang’s.

The huge gap inevitably left a bitter taste in his heart.

”Fourth Master, Mr. Jiang is here.” The secretary led him into the room.

Jiang Zhaolin didn’t expect Jiang Jinsang to be there too. He was just sitting there in a perfectly fitting suit, with a huge floor-to-ceiling window behind him. Today, the sunlight wasn’t particularly bright, but it made his skin look even more cold and pale.

He seemed like a person without blood, without warmth.

Meanwhile, Jiang Chengsi, who was sitting next to him, although wearing a suit, seemed rather relaxed in his own working area, his posture even less than proper.

As usual, he’s never serious.

Seeing him come in, he recovered a serious demeanor and gestured for him to sit opposite him, ”Have a seat.”

”Mr. Jiang, would you like something to drink?” Despite having many questions, the secretary didn’t scrutinize him excessively and dutifully performed his job.

”Just plain water.”

”Please wait a moment.”

”When you come in, please bring me the contract I asked you to prepare a few days ago.”

Jiang Chengsi instructed, and the secretary nodded in agreement. Upon returning, he brought a cup of water and handed over a blue folder to him.

He opened it for a quick look, and Jiang Jinsang, who was sitting nearby, glanced at it out of the corner of his eye.

In bold font, a few words were written [Support Agreement].

”You...” Jiang Zhaolin sipped some water to soothe his throat, ”How have you been these past few years?”

Jiang Chengsi merely smiled, finding the opening line a bit clichéd, ”If you came to see me just to reminisce, you probably wouldn’t have come to the company.”

Indeed, as Jiang Jinsang mentioned, there was an urgent matter, a pressing need to see him.

Jiang Zhaolin rubbed the cup with his fingers. He too had once been in a glorious position, yet now here he was seeking his son’s help, his pride somewhat bruised. He glanced at Jiang Jinsang to his side, hesitating to speak.

After a long time of stammering and continuously rubbing his fingers, he couldn’t utter a single word.

”Xiaowu is family, you can speak directly.” Jiang Chengsi stated bluntly.

...

At this moment, Si Yushan had received the news as well, given Jiang Zhaolin’s special status.

”Sir, he’s been in the Fourth Master’s office for half an hour. Shall we check?”

”It’s okay, he can handle it,” Jiang Chengsi had discussed the matter of Jiang Zhaolin with him and mentioned the support issue.

After all, there is the kindness of giving birth and raising, it’s unavoidable. He didn’t oppose support, it is also a legal obligation, as long as it doesn’t harm their young couple’s life.

Jiang Zhaolin kept hesitating, talking about unrelated topics, sometimes chatting with Jiang Chengsi about childhood, sometimes asking about his child.

Jiang Chengsi wasn’t known for his patience, though dealing with business and raising a child these years had improved his temperament a bit, in the end, he couldn’t hold it any longer.

”If you have something to say, please speak directly. I have work to do, if you want to reminisce, let’s find another time.”

Jiang Zhaolin nodded rigidly, summoning the courage to speak:

”Chengsi, could you... lend me some money!”

Jiang Jinsang, sitting next to him, raised his eyelids and glanced at him upon hearing this.

”I know it’s inappropriate after all this time not seeing each other, to start off asking this, but my factory truly needs urgent capital turnover, after all, we have a blood relationship...”

”Don’t worry, as soon as my factory’s finances improve, I’ll repay you.”

Jiang Zhaolin was already prepared to be thrown out, but unexpectedly Jiang Chengsi asked, ”How much do you need?”

His eyes immediately lit up, his expression of disbelief, and after a moment, he said, ”6.8 million.”

Jiang Chengsi raised his eyebrows slightly, ”How large is your factory, needing so much money?”

”Previously, I also borrowed some from others, interest accumulating has...” All sorts of debts, he had almost borrowed from everyone, ”But rest assured, as long as I have the money, I’ll repay you.”

”6.8 million is definitely not available, but you can take a look at this.” Jiang Chengsi handed him the document.
