Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Jiang Xiaowai, being the youngest, was quite spoiled in the Jiang Family. Jiang Zhenhuan was very strict with his two sons, but he showed special affection towards his grandchildren. As for the old lady, it goes without saying. However, his path to being favored ended when Jiang Shiyi and Lin Luyou moved into the mansion.

At that time, there was just over a month left until Lin Luyou’s due date. The old lady felt uneasy about the couple living outside, and since Jiang Shiyi frequently went back and forth to the laboratory and couldn’t always accompany Lin Luyou, she let the two move into the mansion for support.

Lin Luyou naturally became the center of attention, and Jiang Xiaowai felt he had ”lost favor.”

Tang Wan reminded him many times, ”Don’t disturb Auntie. Don’t run around at home, and definitely don’t bump into Auntie’s belly. There are siblings inside; you can’t scare them.”

”You will soon become a big brother, so you must behave and set a good example for your siblings.”

...

Jiang Xiaowai listened with some understanding, but the idea of having siblings still made him quite happy.

After Lin Luyou’s belly grew larger, she moved with difficulty, and her legs and feet swelled severely. Jiang Xiaowai saw Jiang Shiyi massaging her legs and mimicked his actions, earnestly helping her with it.

His effort was as effective as a mosquito bite, making no difference at all.

With nothing much else to do, he would just squat beside Lin Luyou, playing with his toys while she, ”restricted in personal freedom,” spent her days mostly reading to pass the time.

Honestly, for a pregnant woman, reading some parenting books or listening to some light music would be nice.

But she was into chemistry books, quite brain-intensive stuff. Even if she couldn’t enter the lab, she could make a lot of things using simple items like baking soda or ointment.

In Jiang Xiaowai’s eyes, she was like a magical fairy.

That day, Jiang Xiaowai, carrying his toys, went as usual to Lin Luyou’s room. Jiang Shiyi had already gone to work, while Lin Luyou leaned against the headboard reading. The little guy expertly placed his toys aside, kicked off his shoes, and climbed into the bed.

Jiang Shiyi probably didn’t know that while he was away working, his pillow and bed were thoroughly ”messed up” by Jiang Xiaowai.

Sometimes he even fell asleep on his bed, leaving drool marks on his pillow.

Once the drool dried, there was no trace left.

When Jiang Shiyi returned home, Lin Luyou would remind him, ”The pillow isn’t clean.”

”What’s not clean?” Jiang Shiyi, who had been correcting his obsession with cleanliness lately, asked. After all, with a baby soon, he’d have to deal with changing diapers and such. He even secretly consulted a psychologist without telling his family.

His obsession had developed after his elder brother died, and perhaps psychological therapy could relieve it a bit.

He used to replace his bedding as often as hotel linens, but he was working on changing that.

”Just...” Lin Luyou lightly coughed twice, ”Maybe I accidentally drooled while sleeping.”

She didn’t dare say it was from Xiaowai’s neck snuggling.

”That’s okay then.”

”...”

Jiang Xiaowai played on the bed for a while until he fell asleep. Lin Luyou shifted a bit, pulled over a quilt to cover him; just moving like that made her belly uncomfortable.

She initially thought she had moved too vigorously, leaned on the headboard, took a deep breath; slowly, she noticeably felt something wasn’t right with her body.

This might be...

Labor time!

The Jiang Mansion was quite large. Lin Luyou shouted a few times, but it seemed no one heard. She reached for her phone, only for it to slip and fall between the bed and the nightstand.

”Thud——”

Her heart skipped a beat. She called out a few more times, still seemingly unheard. She propped herself up with both hands, trying to stand, which startled Jiang Xiaowai.

”Hmm?” The little guy rubbed his eyes, still half-asleep.

”Mutang, go call your mom, quickly, go get someone——” At that moment, a sudden pang hit her abdomen, her face turning pale.

Jiang Xiaowai, still groggy, hadn’t quite grasped the situation.

”Hurry, go outside and get someone, just say my stomach hurts.”

A child might not know what childbirth means, but stomach pain was something he understood. Seeing Lin Luyou in distress, he cautiously climbed off the bed, ran outside without even wearing his shoes.
