Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

One day, Qi Zeyan went to pick up Ruan Mengxi from work, only to find his grandfather had put all his hair gel and wax on the living room coffee table, and was looking up their ingredients online...

”Grandpa, what are you doing with my stuff? You want to use them?”

Could it be that this old man also wanted to spice himself up with a hairstyle?

”What would I use them for, at my age?”

”Then why did you take my things?”

”Qiqi, Xixi, you two sit down.”

Qi Zeyan and Ruan Mengxi exchanged a look, thinking the old man had something important to say. But as soon as he spoke, they were almost suffocated:

”Qiqi, you’ve been using this stuff for so many years now, do you think the reason you and Xixi don’t have kids yet could be these hair gels and wax might have ingredients that cause infertility?”

”...”

Qi Zeyan had only ever heard that using some hair gel or wax or pomade could cause hair loss, but how did it lead to infertility?

But after that, Qi Zeyan hardly used them. Not that he didn’t want to, but because the old man wouldn’t let him, even threatening to throw away his collection of shoes if he styled his hair before having a small grandchild or granddaughter for him.

”If you have time, spend it bonding with Xixi. This hair of yours, just a few inches, what’s there to fuss over.”

What do you mean, a few inches of hair?

As summer came and it got hotter, Qi Zeyan couldn’t argue with the old man and simply went to get a clean and neat haircut.

After getting the haircut, when he went to see Ruan Mengxi, he wanted her to compliment him, but she said:

”Your hair volume is really... enviable.”

I wanted you to praise my hairstyle, who told you to focus on my hair volume?

”When I first met you, you either had slicked-back hair or a pompadour every day, unaffected by the wind. I wondered if you were wearing a wig.”

”And you still liked me? You weren’t afraid I was bald?”

”I’m attracted to your face, not your thick hair.”

”...”

Ruan Mengxi was indeed quite smitten with Qi Zeyan’s physique.

There’s a joke about handsome men being heroes saving beauties, and in return lending themselves. Whereas if they’re not handsome...

The favor will be repaid in the next life!

Qi Zeyan and Ruan Mengxi had a habit of bickering over meals, the Qi Family dining table was never peaceful. Their good relationship made the old man happy, but the fact that Ruan Mengxi’s belly showed no signs of pregnancy was worrisome.

One day, while taking a walk in the park, he saw infertility ads pasted on the wall. Knowing full well most were scams, he stopped to look for a long time.

He even quietly noted down the numbers from the small ads.

But he was also clear that from conception to discovering pregnancy takes time, it’s not something that can happen overnight. Plus, with wedding preparations, once one gets busy, they tend to focus less on other concerns.

Besides...

No matter how fast the Jiang Family was, there was still Jiang Xiaosi at the bottom. Not being the last was enough.
