You Hongxian was sitting in a wheelchair, undergoing various check-ups with the nurse’s assistance, he had ”saved” Si Yushan, and was now residing in a high-class ward with dedicated care.

He reached out to touch his leg, rubbing his arm. Although there was a bit of sacrifice, what he gained was worth it.

Even if the family fortune dispersed, as long as he regained the trust of the Si Family, these things would all return to his hands. The only exception was that kid from the Jiang Family; he would not rest until he got rid of him to erase the humiliation he suffered at the birthday banquet.

If it weren’t for him, everything would definitely go smoothly, and he wouldn’t end up with a shattered family.

Meanwhile, another group of people had also arrived at the hospital.

Although You Hongxian was hospitalized and in a wheelchair, he lacked fractures and other injuries, just scrapes and bruises with some muscle and bone injuries, so the doctor recommended observation in the hospital and further exams.

When he finished the check-ups and returned, he heard someone was waiting for him in his room.

He thought it was You Yunzhi. After all the exams and not having a meal, You Yunzhi had previously said she’d go back to cook for him. As the caregiver wheeled him into the room, before he could see the person clearly, he said with a smile:

”Sister, you’re here so fast; after all those exams, I really am a bit hungry...”

As soon as he finished speaking, seeing the people in the room, his expression became dazed, and the smile froze at the corner of his mouth.

The sun was already quite bright, a man stood by the window, silhouetted against the light, his features pronounced, and the angular edges were highlighted, adding a streak of sternness.

The other person was bathed in sunlight, smiling amiably, yet...

Skin eerily fair.

A stark contrast of black and white.

”Second Master, Fifth Master?” You Hongxian did not expect it would be the two brothers, ”What brings you here?”

”Heard you were hospitalized, so we came specifically to check on you.” Jiang Jinsang grinned, ”Although yesterday’s incident wasn’t pleasant, we still thank you for your thoughtful arrangements.”

”No need to be polite, I didn’t do much.” You Hongxian knew all too well that the Jiang brothers differed not only in appearance but also in levels of intelligence and emotional acuity.

The Jiang Fifth Master in front of him...

Now that was one tricky individual.

”Heard from your tone, you seem hungry. We didn’t bring anything special, just some fruit, let me peel one for you.” Jiang Jinsang said as he took an apple from the fruit basket and turned to find a fruit knife.

”Fifth Master, there’s really no need...” You Hongxian dared not eat anything from him.

He felt that anything this kid touched was poisoned.

”Don’t be so polite, how were the tests today? All good?” Jiang Jinsang already had the knife and sat by the trash can, starting to peel the apple.

You Hongxian forced a laugh, ”Not too bad, nothing serious.”

”That’s good then.”

Jiang Yanting was always a man of few words, just as in this instance, after the caregiver settled You Hongxian in bed, the room fell silent save for the rustling sound of someone peeling an apple, very distinct.

”When I peel apples, I like to do it without breaking the skin, otherwise it feels uncomfortable, just like solving problems, best to resolve things all at once, otherwise... it’s really a constant hassle.”

You Hongxian leaned back on the hospital bed, only able to accompany him talking with a dry smile.

Don’t the brothers go to work at their company? Today’s stock market opening, the Jiang’s stock must be quite something, yet they don’t go to the company to oversee, instead coming to his hospital room, what’s that for?

The caregiver placed the wheelchair aside and exited, making the room eerily more quiet, and within You Hongxian’s heart, a vague unease started bubbling.

After all, for no apparent reason, even for a visit during illness, they should have left by now, yet these two...

Stayed too long.

One of them remained silent but had a piercing gaze that sent chills down his back; the other was too good with words, every sentence insinuating something, causing him a cold sweat.

Are these brothers toxic!
