Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Someone always wakes up in a foul mood, picked up the call and grumpily said hello.

”It’s me.” Qi Zeyan said excitedly, ”Are you up?”

”Qi Zeyan, are you nuts? It’s only four something, should I get up to steal something?”

”I’m getting married today, you’re the best man.” Although the more formal wedding would be held in Beijing, the one here in Pingjiang couldn’t be taken lightly either, besides it was someone’s first time, so he was too excited to sleep all night.

”I know, but what do you want from me at four something?”

”Reminding you to come early, don’t be late.”

”I...”

If that guy was in front of him now, Jiang Chengsi would definitely jump out of bed and give him a kick.

Jiang Chengsi had planned to get up after seven, latest by nine he’d be at Qi Zeyan’s place, no way he’d delay picking up the bride.

And yet...

Qi Zeyan almost every now and then, either messaged him or called, making him so angry that he leapt off the bed like a carp and yelled into the phone, ”Qi Zeyan——”

”I’m just so excited, too nervous, wanted to chat with someone, why don’t you come over earlier.”

The wedding in Pingjiang was attended by the Ruan family, not many friends or family from the Qi family came, Qi Zeyan just wanted someone to talk to.

”Alright, you just wait for me!”

Jiang Chengsi really couldn’t sleep anymore either, quickly washed up, took his suit, and headed to the hotel where Qi Zeyan was staying.

Already simmering with frustration, he got another call from him on the way.

”I’m already on my way, what do you want now?”

”Bring me some breakfast, a small wonton and a bowl of tofu pudding, probably won’t have time to eat once it gets busy.”

Jiang Chengsi took a deep breath:

Damn you!

If it weren’t your big day, would I even give you face?

Jiang Chengsi grumblingly still got him some food, bought some for himself too, then hurried to the hotel.

The sky was just starting to lighten...

Hotel staff saw someone riding a scooter coming over, carrying a suit, almost about to kick open Qi Zeyan’s door.

Qi Zeyan was slightly shocked to see Jiang Chengsi.

With slight dark circles, hair pressed flat by the helmet, hauling a suit, holding breakfast, who could believe this is the current hotshot in Beijing, soon-to-be son-in-law of the Si family—Jiang Sige.

”Your small wonton and tofu pudding, here, take it.” Jiang Chengsi was peeved but held back, having been brothers for so many years, he knew Zeyan was genuinely nervous, ”It’s just a wedding, is it that much?”

”I lay in bed last night, couldn’t sleep well all night.” Qi Zeyan didn’t even know why, took the breakfast from him and set it on the table.

”I used to think getting married wasn’t a big deal, been a best man many times, know the process, don’t know why, just couldn’t sleep.”

”Let me tell you, don’t act tough now, wait till your wedding day, let’s see if you get nervous.”

...

Jiang Chengsi yawned, sat across from him, ”I definitely won’t be like you, losing sleep over a wedding.”

”We’ve all seen big occasions.”

**

Even though he said that, when it was his turn to get married, the Jiang family discovered...

A shadow skulking sneakily in the yard in the dead of night!

The cars for his wedding were his cherished limited editions, with the Jiang family being quite busy those days, they thought a thief was in, considering there were many valuables at home.

A group rushed out only to find Jiang Chengsi in pajamas...

On the night before the wedding, crouching in the yard waxing the cars!

Jiang Chengsi didn’t sleep that night either, spent the whole night in the yard waxing cars, didn’t even leave the wheels out.

A classic face-slapping moment.

When Qi Zeyan found out about it, he almost laughed himself silly.

Not supposed to be nervous, huh? What were you doing in the yard in the middle of the night? Waxing cars in the dark? Are you serious?

But that’s a story for another time...
