Tang Wan was at home coaxing the baby, unable to do anything, just anxiously waiting. Shuci even specially called to ask about it, but she herself was confused and had no way to help answer questions or clear things up for her.

They ended up just exchanging a few tips on taking care of children, chatting on and off without much focus.

At this time, Zhou Zhongqing had already arrived at the Department of Gastroenterology.

He quickly found the doctor who had treated Lin Luyou last time.

”Old Zhou? It’s chaos out there, everyone’s saying the Jiang Family’s third young master has a fiancée now and it’s you who’s treating her, right? You must be busy, how do you have time to come to me?”

”Do you still remember Wanwan bringing a young girl with a stomach problem to see you?”

”You mean Wanwan.” The doctor barely needed to think. ”How could I forget? That girl isn’t that old, but her stomach trouble has been going on for quite a while.”

”What medicine did you prescribe her?”

”Hold on, I’ll check it for you.” The Hospital keeps records of all dispensed medicine, so he immediately pulled up the data on the computer. ”She’s quite young, and I was worried some stomach meds would be too irritating and bad for her body, so I gave her some relatively mild ones.”

”I arranged for her to do some tests, but she never came back after that, and she didn’t even bring the test results for me to look at.”

”Did something happen?” The doctor got nervous too; after all, she was a patient he’d seen before.

Zhou Zhongqing glanced at the meds he had prescribed and shook his head. ”Nothing serious.”

”Some painkillers these days have big side effects if you take too many. I didn’t dare give her anything too strong.” The doctor explained again.

”Got it, thanks. Let’s have a meal together another day.”

Zhou Zhongqing came smart and left fast, leaving this Dr. Liu just as baffled.

When Zhou Zhongqing returned to the ward, the old lady and Fan Mingyu had already arrived.

”Uncle Zhou.” Jiang Shiyi immediately walked over.

”Have her parents arrived?”

”Not yet.” The Lin Family is not like the Jiang Family; if Jiang Shiyi hadn’t called, they wouldn’t even know their daughter had been in an accident. Rushing over in a hurry was bound to take some time.

”Then we’ll wait for her parents to get here before we talk.”

Those words only made everyone even more nervous. If it were just something minor, why would they need to wait for her parents?

After all, Jiang Shiyi and Lin Luyou weren’t married yet, so he didn’t count as immediate family. If they had to wait until her parents came, something was clearly serious.

”What... what on earth is wrong with her?” The old lady felt her heart tremble uneasily. ”I just saw her yesterday, and she was perfectly fine then. It shouldn’t be anything major, right? The kids are just starting to develop feelings for each other, don’t scare me like this.”

”It’s nothing serious, don’t worry.” Zhou Zhongqing tried to reassure her.

”If it’s nothing serious, then just tell us.” Fan Mingyu said bluntly.

”Let’s wait for her mom and dad.”

Everyone: ”...”

If it’s not serious and you still refuse to say anything, aren’t you just making everyone worry for nothing?

Lin Luyou slowly woke up. After a few sips of warm water, her complexion looked a bit better. Hearing that Zhou Zhongqing wanted to wait for her parents to announce something, she couldn’t help worrying.

Soon the police arrived and asked a few questions. Lin Luyou told them everything she knew truthfully.

The police hadn’t expected that Geng Dong was actually involved in the Bar incident, so they couldn’t help asking a few more questions.

It was around then that the Lin Family parents arrived at the Hospital.

Lin’s mom rushed straight to the bedside. Once she confirmed that her daughter had no visible injuries, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, but her eyes still turned red.

What kind of mess was this? How did her daughter end up in something like this out of nowhere? The police standing beside them only said they would definitely give the family an explanation.

The old lady and Fan Mingyu chimed in with a few words of comfort, and Jiang Shiyi said outright, ”Uncle, Auntie, I didn’t take good enough care of her.”

The Lin Family parents weren’t the unreasonable type. They had already heard the whole story from the police just now.

The whole matter was indeed connected to the Jiang Family, but they couldn’t blame Jiang Shiyi for it. It really was just bad luck that their daughter ran into it.
