Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

Usually it was fine, as it was a rare chance to be home with her parents, she’d gladly listen to his drunken ramblings, but today was different, Jiang Shiyi was still in her room, and she wasn’t in the mood to listen.

The worst part was, the conversation he wanted to have was about her.

”... Youyou, today your uncle’s daughter got married, I felt so happy, thinking about when my daughter would get married.”

”Dad hopes you find someone good, yet can’t bear to let you go; remembering how skinny you were at birth, like a little mouse, you were so cute.”

Lin Luyou’s eyelids twitched:

Her dad was rambling, what dad compares their daughter to a mouse?

”When you first called me Dad, I was so excited, you were smart and driven since young, you know, you’re Dad’s pride...”

”You excel in studies and work, Dad never worried about you, but Youyou, you can’t always be alone.”

”My colleagues are all grandpas now with grandkids, I also want that...”

...

”Oh, by the way, your colleague from last time, that boy from the Jiang Family, he’s pretty good, does he have a girlfriend? Can you two progress a bit?”

Lin Luyou wished she could cover his mouth, family chatter was one thing, but this was getting ridiculous.

”I find him decent, attentive and considerate, though the Jiang Family is particularly prominent, perhaps they won’t look our way, but my daughter is definitely good enough for anyone.”

Lin Luyou was going crazy, her dad was really drunk, ”Dad, what are you saying?”

”That young man is nice, you’re busy at work without meeting other people, at the lab only he’s young, I heard his younger brother ran into trouble? Do you know about it?”

Lin Luyou never discussed work with her family, they naturally didn’t know she was on site at the time.

”Youyou, good men don’t come frequently, I think your little assistant is nice too, he shouldn’t have anyone.”

”...”

This old house of Lin’s didn’t have good soundproofing, Jiang Shiyi sitting at Lin Luyou’s desk was looking at her photos.

She rarely stayed at home, and the photos were taken before she went abroad, very young, with a ponytail, looking delicate.

Listening to the dad’s ramblings outside, he could only hold back laughter.

Judging from this, Lin Luyou’s father had a good impression of him, and wouldn’t cause trouble if he knew about their relationship.

*

Just then, his phone suddenly rang in his pocket.

The ringtone of a particular brand was distinctive, and no one in the Lin Family used that brand. The now-drunk Lin father was stunned for a few seconds...

Lin Luyou was more than shocked!

”Whose phone is ringing?” Her mother, heating soup in the kitchen, also came out.

The phone rang then stopped abruptly, but in this small house, it was easy to tell where the sound originated.

”This sound is...” The mother looked at her daughter sitting in the living room, who was holding a phone, yet the ringing clearly came from her room.

The ringing wouldn’t have been suspicious if constant, but stopping suddenly made it more suspect.

Jiang Shiyi hadn’t expected anyone to call him at almost eleven.

He quickly hung up, and the caller ID glaringly displayed:

[Jiang Xiaosi]

Jiang Chengsi frowned, what’s happening? Hanging up on him.

He’d just heard from Assistant Yuan that Si Yushan had dinner with his family tonight and wanted to check on their conversation, sending Si Qingxiao to rest, then quickly calling his brother.

Jiang Shiyi had been annoyed by a certain someone today, now at a crucial moment, interference?

Was this guy a born troublemaker?
