Pampered by Short-Lived Bigshot

A few minutes later, Ruan Mengxi sent a message in the group:

[He didn’t take any clothes to change into after his shower, so I went to get him some clothes. Talk to you later.]

And then she never appeared again...

The two of them staying in one room, even lying on the same bed, and they’re bickering over the phone?

Why don’t you just have a fight on the bed?

Everyone realized that worrying about their relationship was just meddling in someone else’s business. Even if they announced a breakup in the group, no one would bother anymore.

...

Tang Wan had been waiting for Lin Luyou to come out for a while, so she stood at the door of the changing room and quietly asked, ”Team Leader Lin, are you ready? Do you need any help?”

”No need, I’ll be done soon.”

Tang Wan glanced at the various wedding dresses displayed in the store, and just then, she heard the store clerk suddenly greet with a smile, ”Welcome.”

Out of instinct, Tang Wan followed the voice and looked over, only to find a familiar face, ”Yiyi?”

The person who came was indeed her old classmate—

Yang Yiyi.

Recently, Tang Wan had run into her several times outside of work. She hadn’t thought much of the hospital encounter before, until Chen Zhi called her, saying her classmate had come looking for her, and he told Yang Yiyi she had taken her child for a vaccination.

That day, Yang Yiyi’s makeup was elaborate, not like someone who was sick. If she were visiting a patient, being all dressed up would seem inappropriate.

The only explanation is:

She deliberately tried to run into her.

Unexpectedly, they even met today at a bridal shop, which naturally is a place for people planning weddings, although this shop also offered photography services, like portrait shoots.

”Wanwan, what a coincidence,” Yang Yiyi smiled, glancing at Ruan Mengxi, ”Xixi is here too, are you... trying on wedding dresses?”

”Yes.” Ruan Mengxi stood up, ”And you are...?”

”I wanted to take some portrait photos.”

”Miss, please have a seat.” The store clerk, hearing she came for a photo shoot, responded warmly, ”Let me show you some of the portraits we’ve taken before, so you can see which style you like.”

”Thank you.” Yang Yiyi smiled and glanced at Ruan Mengxi, ”When are you getting married? Don’t forget to invite us to your wedding banquet.”

”Of course, I’ll invite you.” Ruan Mengxi just smiled.

”Miss, here’s the album. Are you using your own clothes for the shoot, or would you like to use ours? If you use our store’s clothes, there might be an extra charge.” With business at hand, the store clerk naturally was very enthusiastic.

”Okay, let me have a look.” Yang Yiyi smiled and briefly scanned the clothes on display in the store.

The bridesmaid dresses that Ruan Mengxi picked were hanging conspicuously, ”Those dresses are...?”

”Those are the bridesmaid dresses Miss Ruan selected,” the clerk explained.

”By the way, Xixi, who are your bridesmaids for your wedding?”

”Just a few friends and two of our little relatives,” Ruan Mengxi replied naturally.

”Why not ask us, your high school classmates?”

”I was worried that it would be too far, and it’d be troublesome for everyone to travel back and forth.”

”Some are in Beijing too, you know.”

Ruan Mengxi just smiled...

She used to be quite chubby back then, with few friends during school days; Tang Wan was her only close friend. She never really considered asking any high school classmates, but she could catch on to what was implied in the conversation.

...

At this moment, the changing room door opened, and Lin Luyou walked out wearing a long gown in lake blue. Since she wasn’t wearing heels, the hem dragged on the floor. She held it up slightly with her hands, and in the strapless dress, she seemed to carry herself a bit awkwardly, walking in an unsteady manner.

”It looks nice.” Tang Wan smiled, pushing her in front of the full-length mirror, ”When you put on heels and do some makeup, it’ll be great. What do you say, Xixi?”

Ruan Mengxi didn’t really want to pay any attention to Yang Yiyi, but since Tang Wan called her, she walked over, ”It does look very pretty.”

Yang Yiyi didn’t expect to see the young lady she met last time here again.

The skirt she was wearing was obviously a bridesmaid dress. She shouldn’t be familiar with Ruan Mengxi; at least, they didn’t talk at the full moon banquet before.

She had her own motives, seeing if there was a chance to be Ruan Mengxi’s bridesmaid, and she had been fairly clear in implying this.
