Jiang Mansion

Jiang Chengsi took some wine from his bar and visited the old lady before heading home, reporting the events of his visit to the Si Family today.

”Mr. Si wants to take you along and teach you how to do business?” The old lady was still sewing toys for Jiang Xiaowai and couldn’t help raising her eyebrows upon hearing this.

”Yes, Uncle even suggested that I make some plans for my life.” Jiang Chengsi felt that today’s visit to meet the family at the Si Family went very smoothly, so he shared freely.

”Seems like the Si Family really likes Fourth Brother.” Tang Wan was home today, looking after the kids, and Jiang Xiaowai leaned against her shoulder, already asleep, ”Grandma, what do you have to worry about now?”

”Grandma, Uncle is just tough-talking but soft-hearted, he’s always been nice to me, and the Si Family isn’t as scary as you think.”

The old lady still felt his words weren’t entirely trustworthy, frowning ever so slightly; does the Si Family really favor our Xiaosi type?

That taste is indeed quite unique.

Amidst the conversation, Fan Mingyu returned from outside. Seeing Jiang Chengsi, she asked again about the attitude of the Si Family during today’s visit, and upon learning everything went well, she felt happy.

”If your brother’s lifelong matter is settled, then it would be perfect.” Fan Mingyu smiled, ”Yesterday at Lingnan, we even ran into that girl from the lab, but their attitudes were quite intriguing.”

”What do you mean?” The old lady had been occupied asking about Jiang Chengsi last night and wasn’t aware they’d met Lin Luyou, ”Did that girl also attend the birthday party last night?”

”No, it wasn’t that; it was because of the Lou Family’s son causing trouble. She was there for work, and when she saw our Shiyi, she didn’t even give him a proper look. It’s unclear whether they never dated or already broke up.”

Fan Mingyu, after all, is not Jiang Shiyi’s biological mother, so as an aunt, she’s not in a position to ask too deeply.

”Shiyi has always been the most worry-free child since young; he’s likely to be the last to get married among us.” The old lady sighed.

Jiang Chengsi sat at the side, almost rolling his eyes skyward.

It’s false! They’re all lying.

The supposedly most worry-free grandson has already had a fling with the girl and even tricked me; he’s not a good person.

”By the way, Chengsi.” The old lady suddenly interrupted his thoughts.

”Hmm?”

”Mr. Si wants to take you into business; you must take it seriously. I’ll have your aunt buy you some outfits later. When you’re out, make sure to dress properly and not look too carefree...”

Jiang Chengsi agreed one by one, wondering if his regular attire seemed quite improper in Grandma’s view.

The old lady initially wanted him to stay for dinner, but he said he wanted to go home and dine with Jiang Shiyi, and she didn’t insist on keeping him, instead reminding him to drive safely. After returning indoors, she sighed repeatedly to Tang Wan.

”Fourth Brother’s romance seems stable; what’s there to sigh about?” Tang Wan chuckled.

”I’m worried that prolonging the engagement could result in unexpected troubles from the Si Family. If they genuinely favor him, they should hasten the wedding arrangements so that they don’t change their minds over time.”

”...”

”Chengsi struggled academically during school, always too playful. His bars and clubs are just small ventures; he’s never truly engaged in business dealings. I’m afraid he’ll embarrass himself before Mr. Si. He’s never worked a regular job; I’m worried that over time, it could affect Mr. Si’s perception of him.”

Tang Wan nodded in agreement, acknowledging Grandma’s concern was valid. Trying to cage someone carefree for nearly thirty years might soon become unbearable.

”He’s currently interested in that girl from the Si Family, willingly working under their supervision. His interests, besides cars, are often fleeting; I’m afraid issues might arise over time.”

”Fourth Brother should be able to persevere.” Tang Wan still spoke up for Jiang Chengsi.

”Xiaowu is just starting to get into business too; I’ll have him mentor Chengsi later, give him a little tutoring, so he won’t be clueless when accompanying Mr. Si. At least he should know some basic financial knowledge.”

Tang Wan nodded in agreement, feeling Grandma has exhausted herself with worry for him.

She scolds him most often, yet worries equally as much.
